Carly Rae Jepsen: Covers ‘Fuller House’ Theme Song, Releases ‘Emotion Remixed’
Carly Rae Jepsen’s latest album, Emotion, has a serious 80s vibe throughout. Given her album’s theme and the Netflix reboot of the hit show, it makes sense that the Canadian pop singer would cover the original theme song from Full House.
The theme song for Fuller House made its way to the Internet ahead of the show’s premiere on Netflix, which is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26. Jepsen covers the original Full House theme song, “Everywhere You Look.” Jepsen worked on the revamped song with writer and producer Butch Walker, according to Billboard.
Carly revealed to Rolling Stone what it was like to work with the original writer on the theme song.
“I was lucky enough to go in with the original writer. I was really excited, too, because they were doing a cover versus trying to make a song that seems like it. You want to be true to the original. I was trying to mimic along the lines of what Butch Walker has done and make it work, and they were like, ‘Just try it once the way you would do it.’ And they were like, ‘That’s way better.'”
Much like the new Netflix series, the theme song has received mixed reactions from fans, including the dedicated viewers over at The Verge.
“The tune is a cover of the original Full House theme, ‘Everywhere You Look.’ Grammy-snubbed pop star Carly Rae Jepsen does her best with a song that’s both bluesy and treacly at the same time, but the final product is a mixed bag.”

Earlier this week, Carly Rae Jepsen and New York dance duo The Knocks dropped their new seriously addictive new track “Love Me Like That.” In an email with Elle.com, Ben Ruttner and James Patterson revealed what it was like to work with the critically acclaimed pop singer.
“While we were wrapping this album [55], we had an idea for a song that we thought she would sound perfectly on, so we cold called her about collaborating and she was into it. We flew out to LA that week and recorded it together. We are really happy with how it turned out.”
The new track features Jepsen singing against electric guitar and electronic beat as she mourns the death of a relationship that didn’t work out as planned. Ruttner and Patterson previously worked with Jepsen on her unofficial remix of “All That,” which will be featured on the Emotion Remixed album. (More on that later.) Meanwhile, “Love Me Like That” is from The Knocks’ upcoming album, 55, which is set for release on March 4.

Carly Rae Jepsen is set to release some new music of her own, as well. She is releasing a remixed album in Japan, which will feature two new songs. There’s no denying that Carly’s sophomore album is perhaps one of the most underrated pop releases of 2015 — and quite possibly, 2016. It was even snubbed at this year’s Grammy Awards. A lack of attention hasn’t stopped Carly’s latest release from receiving high praise on social media and in Japan.
