Reba McEntire Gets Surprised With Airstream By Ronnie Dunn

Reba McEntire has been doing a show with Brook & Dunn in Vegas for a little bit now and while they have a great time on stage, there is an offstage project evolving as well. Ronnie Dunn, who is one half of the iconic duo Brooks & Dunn, is restoring a vintage Airstream Trailer for Reba as a surprise gift.

Dunn posted pictures of the Airstream in the stripping-down process on his Facebook page and said it was going to be a surprise for Reba. Hundreds of people responded to him telling him this is no longer going to be a surprise as somebody is going to tell McEntire that he is doing this. Ronnie responded with an “Oops.”

Reba is having an exciting couple of weeks as her tribute song and music video to her father, Clark McEntire, who passed away in 2014, was released and is doing quite well on Vevo. The song is called, “Just like Them Horses.” McEntire’s father was a rancher and he loved horses almost as much as he loved his family. She posted this to her Facebook page thanking everyone for their comments and explaining that the music video was just added to GAC (Great American Country) and CMT (Country Music Television.) Reba is thrilled that she could have her mother be with her in this music video.

This isn’t the first time that Reba has recorded a song in honor of her father. The song “Daddy,” which was on her Out of a Dream album, tells the story of her father’s life. McEntire was very close with her father and the family has not been the same since the patriarch passed away. Reba posted this message on her Facebook page and her Instagram at the time of his death.

“Daddy passed away last night in Coalgate, OK at 11 pm CST. He had been in the nursing home for a while and we’re very thankful he is not suffering anymore. He was a born and bred cowboy through and through. He had been sick for 5 years. It makes total sense to me, he always told us kids never to run your horse to the barn. He was just taking his time to go on home.”

Below is a photo of Reba’s father riding shortly before his stroke in 2011.

McEntire and Brooks & Dunn announced their plans to play Vegas together and they took residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on June 24, 2015. They call the show, “Together in Vegas.” New show dates have just been added for 2016 for that limited show and they are May 3, 6, 7, 10, 13, and 14. So far, Reba and Brooke & Dunn have sold out nine consecutive shows in Vegas since their June 24, 2015, kickoff date. Keep in mind that these are limited run shows and they do not play there weekly. What this means is that every time they are on the bill, they are selling out the shows, so make sure to purchase your tickets as soon as you have decided you are going to Vegas.

Reba McEntire is about as well rounded and successful as a person can get. She is and continues to be an iconic country music star, has recently been through a divorce, and has starred in her own successful sitcom and sells out shows in Vegas. McEntire has raised a son Shelby who just turned 26 and is now trying his hand at racing cars. When Reba is not making music, she is visiting her friends on the sets of their shows and cooking.

Reba recently appeared on Trisha Yearwood’s cooking show, Southern Kitchen, which is on the Food Network, and the ladies had a great time catching up.
