Lorde, Diplo Got Cozy At The Brit Awards: Are They Dating?

Lorde, 19, and Diplo, 37, were seen holding hands and wrapping their arms around each other at the 2016 Brit Awards, causing the romance rumors to swirl.

The two artists are good friends and have been for years. But are they now more than just friends? Lorde and Diplo were looking a little too cozy at the Brit Awards, which took place on Wednesday, Feb. 24. They raised eyebrows among fans when they were photographed holding hands and each other following the awards ceremony.

The “Royals” singer smiled widely as the DJ placed his hand around her waist as they trekked to an after-party. Later that night, the Daily News claims that Lorde was too busy gazing into the Major Lazer producer’s eyes and beaming the whole time. Lorde wore a black off-the-shoulder gown that featured a high slit, while Diplo wore an all-black ensemble.

It seems like Lorde and Diplo made up after their brief Twitter feud. In November, 2014, the DJ created headlines when he suggested that someone should start a kickstarter to “get Taylor Swift a booty.” Of course, Swift’s BFF, Lorde, jumped in and responded “@Diplo should we do something about your tiny penis while we’re at it hm.”

He poked fun at Lorde’s response, by tweeting: “The moment u realize she’s a high school student,” and then added, “Disappointed the swift boat veterans didn’t get my tiny dick a fundly going (enlarge me bae).”

Shortly after their Twitter feud, Taylor and Diplo took a selfie together at the 2015 Grammys after-party, proving to fans that they since moved on from their beef. Meanwhile, Lorde and Diplo have remained on friendly terms with each other on Twitter, especially during much of the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 promotion tour.

The New Zealand pop star even recently revealed to the Fader that Diplo is like a “big brother” to her. She added that they have the kind of friendship that allows her to call him out whenever he’s wrong.

“Part of having a friendship with someone like that is not letting them say stupid s**t. Taylor’s my friend as well, and I’m a girl, and if I see some weird body-shaming on my feed I’m going to be like, ‘Hey man…’ We do still love each other, hopefully.”

The love between the two stars was apparent that night. Even fans took notice, and tweeted if Diplo and Lorde’s friendship turned into an actual relationship.

“Are Lorde and Diplo dating,” one user tweeted. “That’d be so amazing!!!”

Earlier that night, the singer blew the Brit Awards away with her touching rendition of David Bowie’s “Life On Mars” in honor of the late rock star.

Lorde reportedly split from her boyfriend of three years, photographer James Lowe, 26, late last year. Sources confirmed to the New Zealand Herald that the couple has ended their long-term relationship in the later part of the year. Lowe hasn’t been seen on Lorde’s Instagram page since September, 2015, where she shared a photo of Lowe and called him her “facetime angel.”

The last time the singer was seen on James’ Instagram page was three months ago, when he referred to her as “the heart that oxygenates my deepest blue.” Lorde has also been shedding her good-girl image for a sexier new image, as seen in her new music video for “Magnets,” her collaboration with Disclosure. The video shows Lorde having an affair with a married man.

Meanwhile, the singer has been keeping her fans wondering when she’ll release the follow-up to Pure Heroine. Neither Lorde nor Diplo have denied nor confirmed the dating rumors. What are your thoughts? Do you think Diplo and Lorde are dating? Sound off below in the comments section.
