The Reason Behind Theo James And Ruth Kearney’s Wedding Delay And It Doesn’t Involve Shailene Woodley

Ever since Divergent came out, many have been speculating about the real deal between Theo James and Shailene Woodley. Many hopeful fans like to think that the two will take their friendship to the next level even if James already has a fiancée in Irish actress Ruth Kearney.

Theo James and Ruth Kearney got engaged last year, but they haven’t spoken about their wedding date yet. Their quietness makes some wonder if they will ever tie the knot. Headlines claiming that there’s trouble in paradise for Theo and Ruth are not surprising anymore.

Several reports claim that the reason behind their wedding delay is Shailene and her allegedly unnatural closeness to the Underworld actor. The term “Sheo” even came to light which compared the two to Twilight’s Robsten (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) and Hunger Games’ Joshifer (Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence).

The British actor told Dazed Digital last year that filming kissing scenes with Shailene was easy, for they had already witnessed each other’s weirdness.

“By that time we had bridged the boundary and the friendship gap and she knew how weird I was and I knew how weird she was.”

He also claimed that the Fault in Our Stars actress certainly gets his sense of humor.

“She did, yeah. It takes a little bit of time when you get to know anyone. You’re feeling each other out and what boundaries you can push and what ones you can’t. But yeah she definitely understands what a weirdo I am.”

Despite reports that Shailene is the root of discord between Theo and Ruth, Youth Health debunked such claims. The reason why the longtime lovers are not in a rush to marry is their hectic schedules. Apart from fulfilling his role as Four in the Divergent franchise, Theo is also set to appear in several films including Underworld: Next Generation and War on Everyone.

Ruth, on the other hand, just landed a role in Netflix’s eight-part series entitled Flaked. The series follows the life of a furniture maker who finally takes a leap of faith and goes to Venice to live out his dreams. Ruth will give life to the role of London, the love interest of Chip (Will Arnett). As early as now, some are already commending Ruth’s chemistry with Will.

Movie News Guide adds that Theo always makes it a point to take the Primeval actress on vacations whenever they get a free time. Last October 2015, the two were photographed in Prague walking arm in arm. They also didn’t mind the paparazzi as they stopped for a quick kiss. A month earlier, they also checked out the sights New York City had to offer.

It is believed that the two have been dating for almost seven years now after meeting in 2009 at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School, where they first auditioned as artists. In 2012, Theo publicized their romance by taking Ruth on a date at the premiere night of Underworld: Awakening.

Meanwhile, a newly-released Allegiant clip features Tris and Four sharing a kiss that is reminiscent of their first intimate moment or what viewers call the “Ferris wheel scene.”

The final book in Veronica Roth’s series will be divided into two films: The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant. The first will hit theater screens on March 18 while the next one will follow a year after.

Robert Schwentke will not direct the final film in the franchise, as he reportedly needs a break. Roth’s final Divergent book will reveal everything about the now-shattered, faction-based society. Tris and Four are finally ready to embrace the truth and explore life beyond the fence. However, it isn’t known yet if the fans were able to successfully convince producers to give the film an alternate ending.
