Why Did Yolanda Foster And David Foster Divorce? ‘RHOBH’ Sneak Peek

Yolanda Foster and her husband, David, announced they were ending their marriage after four short years in December of last year. Now, fans are preparing for the beginning of the end on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In a sneak peek at the upcoming episodes of the reality show, shared by Bravo TV’s official website on February 24, Yolanda Foster was seen speaking at a Lyme disease gala, and during the event, all seemed well between her and David.

“I would like to thank my courageous husband for standing by me during this painful and very unromantic journey,” Yolanda Foster announced to the audience.

However, as the sneak peek continued, fans were seen watching as Yolanda Foster’s co-stars reacted to the news of her and David’s split.

“I’m assuming that she was blindsided,” Lisa Vanderpump said of Yolanda Foster during a conversation with Kathryn Edwards, who added, “Maybe she was the one that’s like, fallen out of love with him.”

Meanwhile, Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna were seen chatting as well, and after Rinna admitted to feeling as if there was more going on with Yolanda Foster than just Lyme disease, Davidson said she was spot on.

Yolanda Foster married David in November 2011, and just months later, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. While David has been at her side throughout her journey and was seen attending doctor visits earlier this season, the dynamic between them surely changed due to her illness.

As Yolanda Foster and her husband filmed the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in late 2014, Yolanda Foster suffered a Lyme disease relapse, which led to an increase in symptoms. From there, Yolanda Foster attempted to get better with a number of different treatments, and she even left the country to try options that weren’t yet approved in the States.

While Yolanda Foster was doing quite badly for many months after her relapse, she eventually took a turn in a positive direction after having a set of leaky breast implants removed last summer. Still, her troubles were far from over as she and David parted ways just a few months later.

“We had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever, [but] unfortunately it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way,” Yolanda Foster explained to Andy Cohen of her split.

While calling into an episode of Watch What Happens Live, via E! News, Yolanda Foster hinted that her Lyme disease was at least partially to blame.

“Chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging, not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship,” she explained. “The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shared the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times.”

Yolanda Foster also offered Cohen a health update at the time, explaining, “I am much better since the last time that I saw you. I have about 60 percent better brain function than I did in the last year. I can still only live and plan one day at a time.”
