DJ Zedd Offers Support To Kesha Amid Dr. Luke Legal Battle
DJ Zedd is the latest musician to offer his support for Kesha amid her ugly legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke.
Zedd took to Twitter on Monday, Feb. 22, to offer his music services to Kesha. He tweeted, “@KeshaRose very very sorry to hear about the whole situation. I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”
The high-profile DJ and producer already has an impressive music resume. He has collaborated with Foxes, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and Selena Gomez. His collaboration with Foxes “Clarity” even earned him a 2013 Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
Zedd is also just the latest of a growing list of celebrities and artists who have shown their support for Kesha on social media after her court ruling on Friday, Feb. 19. After she lost her motion for a preliminary junction to record music with Dr. Luke, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Lena Dunham, and others have spoken out on social media.
In addition, Taylor Swift donated $250,000 to the singer-songwriter to help towards her legal fees and other expenses.
But Zedd isn’t the only music producer to have offered his services to Kesha. Also on Monday, Feb. 22, producer and Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff tweeted similar sentiments about helping produce music for the pop star, and referred to Dr. Luke as a “creep.”
Antonoff tweeted, “Hey @kesharose – don’t know what the legal specifics are, but if you want to make something together & then leak it for everyone I’m around. Or just make something and wait on it till that creep can’t block you anymore. Standing offer from me and everyone I work with.”
Due to the legalities of the lawsuit, fans will have to wait and see if Kesha will take Zedd and Jack Antonoff on their offer. Meanwhile, Zedd has remained absent from the Grammys and other music award shows this year since his sophomore effort, True Colors, didn’t receive any nominations.
That hasn’t stopped him from making new music. Zedd teased a new song on social media with collaborator Aloe Blacc, whom fans will recognize as the vocalist on Avicii’s hit song “Wake Me Up.” The new song, “Candyman,” will be released on Friday, Feb. 26.

The reason why the music producer could be laying low these days is because he survived a scary fall. Zedd took to social media to share a photo of his bruised and scratched side after his accident. The caption read, “Pro tip: don’t slip and fall on your side.” Zedd’s post led to his fans sharing their own photos and stories of their accidents.
He’s mostly been making headlines for his relationship with Selena Gomez. The musicians hooked up when they collaborated on their hit song “I Want You to Know” a year ago. They had a short-lived romance shortly Gomez ended her on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber. Zedd took to social media to celebrate the one-year anniversary of their collaboration.

The music video racked up over 80 million views due to the speculation over their relationship along with the popular reception to the single. The song hit No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes dance charts and was featured on Zedd’s second album.
The video features Selena Gomez getting ready to go to a nightclub. The rest of the video then focuses on her dancing alone on a crowded dance floor as Zedd watches her in the background.
Fun fact: Selena Gomez’s friends Raquelle Stevens and Gigi Hadid are spotted dancing alongside the singer for a few quick seconds.
