WWE Rumors: Shane McMahon Bringing In Goldberg To Face The Undertaker At ‘WrestleMania 32’
On Monday Night Raw, there was the incredibly shocking and amazing return of Shane McMahon to WWE, and he was immediately placed into a huge match. Shane will face off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, and it is going to take place inside the unfriendly confines of Hell in a Cell. Some wonder how this match is going to work, but now rumors have been flying that Shane McMahon could hire a mercenary, and Bill Goldberg‘s name has started being thrown around.
It’s kind of hard to believe that Shane McMahon returned to WWE at all on Monday, but to have him placed in such a huge match is unheard of. Facing off with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 is almost like a suicide mission, and putting them in the giant cell just seals that.
Still, it’s on the card and confirmed, as per WWE.com.
The Undertaker is in great shape, and he showed that last year by wrestling at a number of Pay-Per-Views and in some huge matches. There’s no doubt that he will be prepared and able to go at WrestleMania 32, and likely for months or even years after it.
On the other hand, the big question is if a 46-year-old Shane, who hasn’t wrestled in six years, is able to go in the ring. McMahon has been away from the wrestling world and WWE for just about as long, and now he’s being thrown immediately to the biggest and baddest wolf there is.
This Shane/ Taker thing can’t be. I mean uness the #MeanStPosse is gonna hide under the ring. I feel like I’m being worked. #wrestlemania32

What if, though… what if there is a loophole?
No-one thought Shane McMahon was going to ever come back to WWE, but he did. For those that may have missed it, Vince McMahon mentioned a “lock-box” that Shane is in possession of, and the contents are being held over the big man’s head.
There was the loophole to write Shane McMahon back into WWE storylines, and it should eventually revealed. Perhaps there is a loophole of some sort in how Shane has to participate in this match against The Undertaker, and he’s able to hire a mercenary to wrestle for him?
It’s not unlike Shane McMahon to do something sneaky. He just reappeared in WWE after being gone for the past six years. In 2001, he purchased WCW right out from under his father’s nose when WWE finally acquired its long-time rival.
Some just don’t believe that Shane McMahon will be able to still give the types of amazing matches he used to give. With that, bring in the list of possible mercenaries who could be “hired” by Shane-O Mac to take on The Deadman.
Bill Goldberg is obviously one of the first choices that gets throw out as his name has been included in a bunch of rumors for months now. According to WrestleZone, Goldberg has actually not been contacted by WWE for an appearance at WrestleMania 32, and it’s not known that he will.
That’s not to say he won’t though as there have been talks between Goldberg and WWE over the past year and the interest is there from both sides. All that needs to happen is a respectful deal.
Batista is another possible option, but not one that is likely going to end up being Shane McMahon’s choice to face The Undertaker. At the Royal Rumble, Vince McMahon met with Batista about being the special guest referee for the WrestleMania 32 main event, but he refused the offer.
Currently, Batista is filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well, so he’s rather busy.
Yes, The Rock is going to be at WrestleMania 32 without any doubt, as both WWE and he have confirmed it already. Now, his full role isn’t known yet, but it also isn’t expected that he will be wrestling due to insurance issues and his commitments to the movies he’s filming.
One thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that Shane McMahon returned as a huge babyface, and he’s being pitted against Vince McMahon, the heel. Vince is using The Undertaker, but it won’t put Taker into the role of the heel. If the match stays Shane vs. Undertaker, then it will be babyface vs. babyface in a huge Hell in a Cell bout.
If Shane does bring in a mercenary to fight for him, then it will have to be someone that doesn’t portray Shane as the heel…because he isn’t.
Shane McMahon is officially back in WWE, and he’s going to have to a match in the Hell in a Cell against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. If the match goes on as is, it will be interesting to see how good it comes off. If McMahon ends up hiring Goldberg or The Rock or even Kurt Angle as his mercenary, then things could be changed up entirely.
