'Game Of Thrones' Gets Trumped And It's Hilarious

"Winter is coming" is an often heard phrase on the Game of Thrones show, and among Game of Thrones fans. Political satirist Huw Parkinson has created a hilarious video that puts a spin on this phrase, and features someone whose name we hear repeatedly every day thanks to the presidential campaign -- Donald Trump. In this Game of Thrones parody, Huw placed Donald Trump's head on the bodies of a variety of Game of Thrones characters. The video is titled "Winter Is Trumping" and features clips of Trump's head speaking (clips of his real speeches) in a variety of Game of Thrones scenes from past seasons. Take a look below.

Huw Parkinson created the Game of Thrones parody and describes it in this way on YouTube.
"Armed with a Valyrian steel sword named Deal-Maker, Donald Trump embarks on a quest through Westeros to take care [of] its border policies."
The Australian video editor of political talk show Insiders draws parallels between Game of Thrones' North Wall that was created to keep out the white walkers, and the wall the Republican candidate is famous for promoting to keep out illegal immigrants.

In a scene from Game of Thrones Season 2, Trump stands outside the walls of Qarth and denies entry to Daenerys Targaryen, telling them, "No. We have a serious problem with radical Islam, we have a tremendous problem. And we can't be the stupid country anymore." Later in the video, he speaks to the Men of the Night Watch about building a wall. Huw has spliced in the millionaire's head as he proclaims that he is the best builder and then, with a head bobble reminiscent of a bragging school age child, tells them that he will build the greatest wall they have ever seen and that it will include "a big, fat door."

Among some of the funniest scenes are the ones that include Game of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister. Tyrion is a master of facial expressions that are worth a thousand words. In this Game of Thrones parody, he gives Trump several of those looks and in one scene delivers one line that is only one word but which represents what many have said in response to some of the candidate's statements. In the exchange, Trump says, "the people that are with me 100 percent are the people." To which Tyrion simply responds, "What?" in the tone this Game of Thrones character does so well, one that says that he thinks what was said is idiocy. Tyrion gives him this look a few more times in the video.

"Winter is Trumping" has been viewed nearly two million times, likely by both Game of Thrones fans and those who do not watch the show. It's entertaining to both groups of people, with humor you'll understand whether you watch the show or not.

The video is seamless and achieves its satirical goal as it inserts Trump into Game of Thrones in a way that works perfectly. His words work perfectly in each scene, and the reactions of other characters in the scene make complete sense. His head replaces that of some of the most hated characters of Game of Thrones, including Joffrey Baratheon, Janos Slynt, and Alliser Thorne.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO on April 24 for its sixth season. It has been nominated for 279 awards and has received 163 awards. The TV series is based a series of books written by George R.R. Martin. The book series is titled A Song of Ice and Fire. As of April of 2015, over 60 million copies of the books in the series had sold worldwide.
