Teen Choice Awards Decided This Weekend: ‘American Idol,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ Among Favorites
The Teen Choice Awards will be held this weekend, and scheduled performers, as well as this year’s co-hosts Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale, are ramping up, while 13-19-year-olds continue to vote for their favorites.
The Toronto Sun reports that scheduled performers include:
“Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauly D, while others participating include Zooey Deschanel, Miley Cyrus, Ellen DeGeneres, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Lea Michele, Jordin Sparks, Gordon Ramsay and Taylor Swift.”
The Sun also sat down with McHale to talk about how excited he is for Sunday’s show. The “Glee” star stated:
“I’m excited to see No Doubt,” said McHale, perhaps inadvertently revealing his age. “So I hopefully won’t act like a fan gorilla in front of all the people that I like. I should probably stay professional. My goal is to act like an actual host and not like a fan. I hosted the Teen Choice Awards two years ago with Katy Perry and Mark (Salling), Chris (Colfer) and Cory (Monteith) from Glee, but because there were so many of us, we each just had a little part. This will definitely be a lot more responsibility, but I’m excited.”
Hollywood Life even reports that Twilight Saga stars Robert Pattinson, Kristin Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will attend the awards ceremony together, chalking up another red carpet entrance for the trio.
In preparation for the event, fans ages 13 to 19 have been able to vote for their favorites once per day, and will be able to do so until 11:59 p.m. PDT, according to ABC News. The Teen Choice Awards will be broadcast live on Sunday July 22, between 8 and 10 pm EDT on Fox.
