Todd Harrell, 3 Doors Down Bassist, Arrested For DUI
On the bright side, the band 3 Doors Down is back in the news. Of course, it probably isn’t for the reason that they’d hoped. Todd Harrell, the band’s bassist, was arrested early Thursday morning for driving under the influence.
The Huffington Post reports that Harrell was arrested at around 7 in the morning on Thursday morning after he crashed into a pickup truck after failing to stop at an intersection in southern Mississippi. Police Chief Wayne Payne said that Harrell was charged with driving under the influence. Harrell was also given a ticket for not wearing his seatbelt.
According to the Washington Post, Harrell submitted to a blood test. The toxicology report is still pending.
The 3 Doors Down bassist went in front of a judge after his arrest and was eventually released on $1000 bond.
Harrell, Matt Roberts, and Brad Arnold formed the band 3 Doors Down in 1996. The band shot to international fame in 2000 with the release of their album The Better Life and the hit single Kryptonite. The band’s latest album, Time Of My Life, was released in 2011. Lead guitarist Matt Roberts, however, left the band in May due to health reasons.
Harrell is just the latest in a long line of celebrities to get a DUI. Marshawn Lynch, Kenny Britt, Jason Kidd, and Cat Cora, all received DUIs this month.
