Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Ready To Wed? How Her Cheating Ex Could Stand In Their Way
As Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s romance continues to unfold for all the world to see, it almost seems inevitable that the two will get married. However, is it possible that Stefani’s ex-husband might get in the way of their future wedding?
According to Radar Online, the biggest concern in Stefani’s potential union with Shelton centers on her children. Stefani and her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, had three children during their marriage: Kingston (9), Zuma (7), and Apollo (1). If Stefani was to marry Shelton and move to Oklahoma, then there is a possibility that the custody of her children could prevent her from making the move.
However, an inside source told the outlet that Stefani is in the clear if she wants to make the move to Shelton’s hometown in Oklahoma. Fortunately for Stefani, it all comes down to the details in her divorce proceedings with Rossdale.“There is no clause in Gavin and Gwen’s divorce settlement stating that both parties have to remain living in Los Angeles until their youngest son turns eighteen,” the source explained. “They share joint custody of the kids, but there would be nothing stopping Gwen from moving to Oklahoma to be with Blake.”
With Stefani’s options wide open, the only question remaining is whether or not she wants to marry Shelton so soon after her divorce with Rossdale. According to Hollywood Life, Stefani is not only ready to exchange vows with the country star, but she’s eager to do so.
“[Stefani] has been pushing her attorneys to do all they can to finalize her divorce from Gavin as soon as possible,” a source told the outlet. “Gwen feels like she’s in a race with Miranda to see who can get married first. She can’t help it — she’s playing along with [Miranda’s] games.”
According to Movie News Guide, Shelton and his ex-wife finalized their divorce after two weeks of their initial filing. This happened back in July of 2015 while Stefani’s divorce was first announced a month later and has yet to be finalized.
As far as Lambert is concerned, she is currently in a relationship with Anderson East. The two have been together for around two months, which makes a future wedding seem unlikely.
With Shelton already ready to tie the knot, Stefani’s persistence in officially ending her marriage with Rossdale is an indication that the two are serious about marriage. Luckily for fans, this means that it probably won’t be long before the wedding bells ring for The Voice judges.
That being said, even if Gwen Stefani marries Blake Shelton in the coming months, there is little indication that she will make the move to Oklahoma. Apparently, Stefani is more than happy with their current setup, which includes going back and forth between L.A. and Oklahoma to visit.“There are no current plans for Gwen to move and she would never take the boys away from their dad,” the insider noted to Radar Online. “Gavin and Blake are happily spending time together in Los Angeles. They travel back to Oklahoma, but their base will continue to be Los Angeles.”
Part of the reason why Stefani doesn’t want to move away from L.A. is because of her amicable relationship with Rossdale. While this is somewhat of a rarity to see in Hollywood relationships, it is good that Stefani is keeping the best interests of her kids in mind when making decisions about their future.
At this point, neither Stefani nor Shelton have made any sort of announcements regarding an engagement. However, if and when that goes down, fans can rest assured that it won’t be long before the couple makes it known to their avid supporters.
