‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Shooting Has Hollywood’s Elite Voicing Their Sadness Via Twitter
As we previously reported at least 12 people were killed and 39 were injured after crazed gunman James Holmes entered a showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado and opened fire. Following that disgusting display of murder Twitter has exploded with condolences from some of Hollywood’s brightest stars.
Olivia Munn took to the social network on Friday to tweet:
“My sincerest condolences to the victims and families in Colorado. So sad, so mindless.”
Following in her footsteps was Kelly Cutrone who asked a question that may be on many people’s mind following the tragedy:
“Do we need to go through metal detectors just to see a movie – What is happening to our society? Prayers to Colorado and the world,”
“Glee” actor Harry Shum Jr. echoed a sentiment that many of us are probably feeling:
“My heart goes out to all the victims in Colorado. This is just insane.”
Insane is taking the shooting lightly in my opinion, not only did James Holmes enter the movie theater in full swat gear while donning a gas mask, he shot a baby at point-blank range and police found ‘sophisticated’ bombs throughout his apartment.
Actor Chris Evans of the Avengers appeared to be as confused about what had just happened as everyone else, tweeted:
what the hell is happening?? my heart is completely shattered. all of my thoughts and prayers are with the people of aurora

It wasn’t just Hollywood’s elite that gave their sympathies, the rest of the entertainment and sports world joined in including NBA star LeBron James who tweeted:
“Its just not fair that innocent people have to lose their lives over someone’s selfish stupidity acts! My stomach is hurting over this.”
The speed at which celebrities, athletes, media personalities and others have come out to show their support highlights just how tragic the Dark Knight Rises shooting has become in a very short period of time.
Now everyone including those voicing their outrage on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and other online forums will wait to see if James Holmes offers any reason for his movie theater massacre.
