Kaitlyn Bristowe Pregnant? Wedding Plans On Hold, Kaitlyn And Shawn Reveal Exciting Baby News
Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe may be following in the footsteps of her predecessor Ali Fedotowsky, who recently stopped planning her wedding and announced that she is expecting her first baby with fiancé Kevin Manno.
Fans who have been wondering when Bristowe and her fiancé Shawn Booth will tie the knot may have to wait awhile — they want to have babies first. The couple recently told People magazine that they are “pumped” to start a family and it’s going to happen “soon”— as in before they even start planning a wedding. Kaitlyn states that the “idea of family is more exciting” than planning a wedding. Although they know they will eventually get married, they don’t feel they have to tie the knot in order to start a family.
Is that Kaitlyn’s way of hinting that she is pregnant? After all, they just bought an adorable home in Nashville and have been talking a lot more about babies than bridal gowns, wedding venues, and honeymoons.
“We know we’re going to get married, but we’re really pumped to start a family! I don’t feel like there is a specific order we have to go in. I think we’re more excited about having kids than actually getting married!”
If it’s true, Kaitlyn and Shawn will be the seventh couple from the Bachelor franchise who are expecting a little one in 2016. Former Bachelorette Ali Fedowtowsky, who got engaged last year to Kevin Manno, revealed on her blog in early January that they put the brakes on their wedding plans and are “so excited” for Baby Manno to arrive later this year.
Also expecting a little Bachelor or Bachelorette this year are Sean and Catherine Lowe; Ashley Salter and her fiancé Austin Brannen; DeAnna (Pappas) and Stephen Stagliano; Melissa Rycroft and her husband, Tye Strickland; and Erica Rose and her boyfriend of three months, Galen Gantry.
Amidst all this baby talk, fans still want to know if they will ever see Kaitlyn and Shawn get married on TV. Since their engagement was shown on the Bachelorette finale back in August, they have been asked countless times when they will make it official and if ABC will air their nuptials. Even Bachelor host Chris Harrison asked how the wedding plans were coming during last week’s Bachelor at 20 special and, once again, received a rather vague response from the couple.
Although they are clearly not on the verge of a breakup — as rumored in many tabloids — it appears that Kaitlyn and Shawn are simply more interested in doing things their way instead of caving to the pressure to get hitched before having kids.
“The pressure doesn’t get to us at all,” Booth told People when asked about a possible wedding date. He went on to say that they only “knew each other for ten weeks before I proposed” so the most normal thing they can do “is wait” to have a wedding.
Waiting to have kids is a different story, and it appears that Kaitlyn and Shawn are intent on giving their dog, Tucker Doodle, a little companion. Right now, he’s the star of the show and is featured in many of the couple’s Instagram posts, but if a little “Boothstowe” comes along, he will have to share the spotlight.

After 11 seasons of the Bachelorette, only three couples have made it to the altar — Trista and Ryan, Ashley and J.P., and Desiree and Chris. Will Kaitlyn and Shawn eventually join the list of married Bachelorette stars? If their relationship keeps going strong, it sounds like a baby will arrive long before fans see them exchange vows.
Do you think Kaitlyn and Shawn will ever get married and are they talking about babies because Kaitlyn is pregnant?
