Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton brought their love to the 2016 Grammy Awards in more ways than one. Before Stefani took the stage to sing about her romance with Shelton, the two put on quite the display during a pre-Grammys party. Their PDA was so noticeable, in fact, that a certain Oscar-winning actor, Sylvester Stallone, told them to “get a room.”
According to Showbiz , the Voice judges were spotted at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy celebration, which attracted some of the biggest named celebrities. The event hosted the likes of Chris Rock, Caitlyn Jenner, Jamie Foxx, John Legend, and Barry Manilow, to name a few.
Apparently, Stefani and Shelton could barely keep their hands off each other at the party. In particular, Stefani sat in Shelton’s lap for the majority of the party, which caught the eye of more than one celebrity. In fact, after Stallone entered with his wife, Jennifer, he shared a few playful words with the two lovers.
“You two get a room,” he told them, with Shelton quickly replying, “Hugging Rocky southern style.”
Later, Carly Simon took the stage and sang “You’re So Vain,” which had just about everyone at the party standing up. At one point during the song, Stefani playfully pointed at Shelton.
The pre-Grammy party was not the only time the two shared a moment together during the Grammy celebrations. For her part, Stefani performed her newest single, “Make Me Like You” during the Grammy Awards.
As fans will recall, Shelton had quite the reaction on social media when the song first dropped. Shelton took to Twitter and hinted to fans that the song was really about him.
“You can probably understand the multiple reasons why I just bought this… I hope you do to!!! @gwenstefani,” Shelton wrote.
Although Stefani had not previously revealed the true inspiration behind the song, she was clearly singing about Shelton. This was evident in her performance at the Grammys in which, according to USA Today , she impressively debuted her new song in front of a live audience.
Stefani’s performance was great, especially considering how the entire music video was done live. During her song, she made a few references to the rumors that have circulated about her and Shelton, which she was quick to share later on Instagram .
At the same time, Stefani recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live , where she admitted that her song and performance at the Grammys were inspired by her romance with Shelton. During the interview, which can be viewed on YouTube , Stefani explained how she has been able to turn around the hurt she experienced this past year into something meaningful.
“It is, actually, yeah. I will admit that that song is about that guy,” Stefani told Kimmel. “What’s so crazy is that sometimes tragedy — if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful. This whole album is about trying to take something awful and, just, I don’t know, healing from it and then turn it into something beautiful.”
Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale until this past summer when the two decided to file for divorce. Shelton experienced a similar end to his relationship with Miranda Lambert, whom he separated from a month before Stefani. However, the two quickly turned their love lives around after their relationship took off in November.
Ever since then, the romance between Shelton and Stefani has not dwindled by any measure. Considering their PDA during the pre-Grammy party and Stefani’s newest hit single, it doesn’t look as though the two are going to slow down anytime soon.
