Nina Dobrev Dumps Austin Stowell And Hangs With Chace Crawford: Nina Can’t Find Lasting Love After Ian Somerhalder Split
Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell have called it quits after just seven months of dating, continuing Nina’s streak of striking out fast with new boyfriends instead of finding love that lasts. Nina hasn’t been involved in a long-term relationship since splitting from Ian Somerhalder in 2013, but it looks like she hasn’t given up on finding love just yet— the former star of The Vampire Diaries has already been linked to former Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford.
Nina Dobrev isn’t busy with The Vampire Diaries anymore, but recent reports suggest that she and Austin Stowell decided to split because their schedules are simply too full for them to make time for romance. Nina’s new movie, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, is currently filming and she’s about to begin working on Arrivals, so perhaps her movie career played a role in her relationship’s demise. According to E! News, Nina is the one who broke up with Austin.
“It started to get hard with both of their schedules,” a source revealed.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the last time Austin and Nina were spotted together was at Nina’s emoji-themed birthday on January 9. Nina attended the February 1 Super Bowl without Austin, and she also celebrated Valentine’s Day with a group of pals instead of getting romanced by her former man. A source told E! News that Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell’s breakup happened sometime around the end of January or early February. The former lovers are reportedly on good terms, but Austin might not be thrilled to find out that Nina has already been spotted spending time with another good-looking guy.
According to E! News, Nina Dobrev nursed her broken heart by hanging out with Ian Somerhalder look-alike Chace Crawford at the Villa Lounge bar in West Hollywood on Tuesday night. Nina might be too busy for Austin Stowell, but apparently she can make time for Chace. Nina and Chace were photographed heading to the Bootsy Bellows nightclub, and they were careful to keep their distance from one another while the paparazzi snapped away. Nina and Chace have spent time together before, and a source claims that they’re still just friends. However, they’re pretty close pals — they’ve spent Thanksgiving together two years in a row.
Maybe Nina Dobrev needs to date a longtime male friend if she wants to find another relationship that lasts. According to Us Weekly, Nina’s three-year relationship with Ian Somerhalder “brewed out of a friendship” that they forged while working on The Vampire Diaries together. Since she and Ian broke up, Nina hasn’t been involved with anyone for longer than a few months. According to Celebuzz, she was spotted kissing Liam Hemsworth (another actor who looks a bit like Ian) last February. Their fling only lasted a New York minute. Before that, Nina spent six weeks dating Dancing with the Star pro Derek Hough in late 2013. According to Us Weekly, their relationship had “played itself out” by mid-October.
Before Nina Dobrev delighted fans of The Vampire Diaries by dating Ian Somerhalder, she had one other long-term relationship. According to Wetpaint, she dated Code Black star Benjamin Hollingsworth for three years starting in 2006. Life & Style reports that 27-year-old Nina and 37-year-old Ian broke up because he wanted to get married and settle down while she did not. Ian Somerhalder proved that he was over Nina by marrying Twilight actress Nikki Reed last April, and he recently revealed that he and Nikki are trying for a baby. Some fans of Ian and Nina’s defunct romance might worry that Nina Dobrev can’t find lasting love because she’s struggling to get over her ex, but perhaps she’s simply still not ready to settle down.
