‘Mob Wives’ Big Ang, Neil Murphy Divorce — Angela Raiola Has A 30 Percent Chance Of Survival — [Updated]
Mob Wives reality TV star, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola announced on The Dr. Oz Show yesterday that she ended her marriage to Neil Murphy after feeling as if he didn’t step up to the plate and support her through her cancer treatment. Big Ang revealed that she would rather be alone to fight her cancer than to feel as if she had to worry about Neil and his inability to be there for her.
Page Six revealed that Big Ang decided after her cancer returned for the third time that she needed to focus on her needs without worrying about her husband. For Big Ang, it was a natural choice because she was in a battle against cancer, and the alternative was dying. Big Ang noted that death is not an option for her — she has too much to live for right now.

Big Ang told Dr. Oz that when they told her that she had brain and lung cancer, she couldn’t comprehend how she could have cancer, again. Raiola had just had several surgeries to remove the throat tumors out of her body. It was her understanding after the surgeries that she should recover and eventually not have cancerous cells.
The doctor goes on to tell Big Ang that not only did her cancer return, but it is at stage four. At that point, Ang said she wasn’t sure what to do. It was happening too soon, and too much to digest all at once. Starcasm explained that Big Ang’s chance of beating her cancer diagnosis at this point was at 30 percent. Even still, Big Ang refuses to give up hope that she will be one of the rare cases that will beat this terrible disease.
Big Ang told Dr. Oz that she has so much to live for and will not give up just yet. Even though the odds are stacked against her, she will fight to the bitter end. Ang noted that her daughter, son-in-law, and three children live with her, and having them around helps her immensely. She explained that she was trying her best to remain positive and not let the negativity take over her life. “It’s not the end,” Big Ang told Dr. Oz.
Big Ang noted she cannot imagine how difficult it would be to tell her family goodbye. She tries not to think about it and is attempting to focus on more positive things. Ang also explained to beat cancer; she knew she needed to eat a better diet. She revamped her eating plan and has been focusing on a healthier lifestyle.
Big Ang’s sister, Janine Detore, set up a GoFundMe page for her after receiving the news that her body is no longer responding to chemotherapy. Angela is running out of treatment options. However, she will try immunotherapy. Typically, immunotherapy works best if you are in the early stages of cancers, but Big Ang is running out of treatment options and at this point, will try anything to beat this terrible disease. Her sister opened the fundraiser to raise money to fund cannabis oil for Big Ang because it has been extremely useful in treating advanced cancers such as hers.
Big Ang and Neil Murphy appeared on VH1 Couples Therapy last season and seemed to have made significant progress in their relationship. They were talking more, and treating each with more respect. When her cancer returned, it became too much for their broken marriage, and it spun out of control. Big Ang didn’t feel supported by him and felt like he didn’t provide well for her. It came to a point where it was not a healthy relationship for either of them, so she decided to call it quits, and leave him for good.
Big Ang calls for anyone who is smoking tobacco to stop immediately. She explains that her long-term smoking habit caused her cancer, and she wished she would have heeded to the warnings that it could cause cancer.
