Russell Brand Starts Talking About Katy Perry, Won’t Say Anything Mean
Russell Brand has been quiet about his divorce, in fact the typically open comedian has said very little about his split from Katy Perry over the last year. Now after more than a year as a single man Brand has begun to talk about Perry in public.
On Tuesday night Brand was filming his new show Brand X when all of a sudden he started talking to an audience member also named Katy. During that conversation the Sun says Brand blurted out
“Enough of you, I’ve had enough arse-ache from people called Katy in the last year.”
That same night Russell Brand appeared in an interview on CNN with Piers Morgan where he appeared to reveal at least a little bit of closure with that past relationship:
“Of course I still feel great feelings of compassion and warmth for Katy,” he said, “but like, I’m very happy with my life.”
Then on Wednesday Russell was at it again, this time on the Howard Stern show. While Howard always tries to get dirty of out people on his show Brand once again wouldn’t budge from complementing or in the least protecting Katy Perry. Brand told howard:
“When we got married, I just thought, ‘I’ve got to marry her, I just love her so much.’ And then we got married and I thought, ‘OK, this isn’t really working out.”
Brand recently told MTV that he didn’t want to hurt his ex-wife:
“I don’t want anything to hurt her. She’s younger than me, she’s a young woman and she’s beautiful and she’s sensitive and I care about her deeply … I don’t want to be too glib. She’ll read it and she’ll be sad and I don’t want that.”
Not quite the controversy we’re use to in Hollywood.
In the meantime Katy Perry celebrated her one year divorce anniversary this week by singing karaoke.
