Kristen Taekman On Luann de Lesseps’ Quick Proposal: ‘I’m Not Surprised’

Kristen Taekman is no longer on The Real Housewives of New York, but she stays in contact with her former co-stars. And as it turns out, Kristen may know who Luann de Lesseps’ new man is. A few weeks ago, Luann announced her engagement to Thomas D’Agostino Jr. The two had been dating for a few months, but de Lesseps was convinced that they were meant to be, and she hinted that a proposal was coming up. Within days, she had a ring on her finger. According to a new Bravo report, Kristen Taekman believes that this is the right fit, and she speaks of this as if she has met Luann’s new man.

“No [I’m not surprised it happened so fast] because I think probably when you fall in love, you fall in love,” Kristen told the Daily Dish after learning of the engagement, adding, “I’m really happy for her. I think that’s awesome. I think Luann is an amazing woman and I think she deserves love. It’s very exciting. I’m very happy for her.”

Even though Taekman hasn’t been filming this new season of The Real Housewives of New York, it sounds like she’s been keeping in contact with Luann and even hanging out with her and Thomas. She definitely knows a lot about them. When Taekman discussed the proposal with Bravo’s Daily Dish, she revealed that Luann and Thomas were very much alike.

“They’re just very similar — the same interests and they both have this joie de vivre that’s as endearing as it is infectious,” Kristen Taekman reveals, adding, “I think they have reflective personalities — they seem to view life through the same lens. They both love traveling, being on a boat, having great food, being among friends…They’re definitely spur-of-the-moment people who love to be out and both are very enthusiastic about living it up!”

Of course, Kristen Taekman watched as Luann struggled to make up her mind about her previous flame, Jacques. While she really wanted a child and a commitment from her then-boyfriend, he just wasn’t willing to make it work. So many of her co-stars are thrilled that she’s found love – and is getting married for the second time. As for Kristen Taekman, she decided to leave The Real Housewives of New York behind after her husband’s name surfaced in the Ashley Madison leak. While she didn’t blame this on her departure, she did reveal that she was done sharing her life on the small screen.

“My experience during my time on RHONY was fantastic and I made some great new friends,” Kristen told Us Weekly when she made her announcement about leaving the show, adding, “At this time in my life, I have decided to concentrate on my family and my new business ventures Pop Of Color nail polish and Last Night’s Look, my fashion blog. I will remain a Housewife and part of an amazing franchise forever and that is what is important.”

Radar Online covered the cheating scandal in depth. Almost a year ago, Kristen’s husband’s name surfaced in the Ashley Madison hack. Ashley Madison was a website where married men could meet other women for extramarital affairs. Josh claims he only made the account in his name as a joke with some friends, but he spent over $1,000 on the website. Sources revealed that Kristen Taekman was completely heartbroken over his betrayal, and she didn’t feel comfortable putting her marriage on The Real Housewives of New York anymore. She’s been keeping her distance from the franchise ever since.
