Gwen Stefani Teases Tracklist For New Album — Did She Find Inspiration In New Love Blake Shelton Or Ex Gavin Rossdale?
Gwen Stefani’s new album is going to drop soon, but the talented singer and songwriter just couldn’t wait and gave fans what appears to be a list of the album’s upcoming tracks.
Stefani revealed the list via Twitter, where she posted a handwritten note of the titles followed by four hearts and in the caption wrote, “This is what love feels like.”
Us Magazine reports that the snapshot of tracks listed 1-12 was a part of Stefani’s personal diary.
While it’s too soon to know what the songs are actually about, given her recent relationship status, fans are already taking guesses about the topics, with many assuming that the songs are about her past and present love life.
With such titles as “Misery,” “Me Without You,” and “Red Flag,” it’s hard to not think those are about her breakup with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. According to Us Magazine, Stefani and Gavin split back in August, with Rossdale involved in a cheating scandal.
But the list of tracks doesn’t appear to be all about heartbreak. It seems her new love, Blake Shelton, who has been on a PDA tour with Gwen Stefani for some time now, has made his way into some of the tracks. Titles such as “You’re My Favorite,” which Stefani drew two stars next to for some unknown reason, and “Send Me a Picture” and “Make Me Like U” make everyone think that country star Shelton has made his impact on the pop singer’s heart — in a good way, of course.
The Huffington Post also reminds us that the pop goddess already came out with a song inspired by ex-husband Rossdale last year titled, “Used to Love You.” A song that was the bright spot in an up-and-down year for the singer following the ending of her marriage.
“I would consider [the new album] a breakup record,” Stefani shared during a radio interview with San Diego’s 93.3 last year, according to Huffington Post, adding, “It just makes me believe in God and my journey. My cross to bear was to go through these heartbreaks and write these songs and help people.”
E! News also speculates that along with the list of tracks for her upcoming album, Stefani also hinted at a possible name for the album in a cryptic message.
“This Is What the Truth Feels Like,” she wrote in the caption.
Could that be the name the album? Possibly, or it could be nothing.
“‘I went to the studio and started writing. Well I wrote my first song and it was like a little rosebud just blossoming, and I was like, ‘Wow! It’s happening I can do this!’ I know that every time I go into the studio I’m going to write a song and it’s the most incredible feeling,’ she told iHeartRadio’s Elvis Duran and the Z100 Show after her divorce from Rossdale. ‘Once I had [‘Used to Love You’], all the other songs kind of made sense. It’s just weird—it’s a weird journey.'”
And despite no release date for the album, fans continue to wait eagerly, and rightfully so, considering this is the artist who produced the hit songs “Rich Girl” and “Hollaback Girl.”
“I wrote everything in like 8 weeks,” she said to Z100, states E! News. “But I feel like I want to write a few more now that I’m into the next phase whatever this phase is, because I want to see what that is.”
In other Stefani news, the Huffington Post reports that she is scheduled to perform a live music video at the Grammy’s for the song “Make Me Like You.”
Stefani posted an image on her Twitter page of the announcement with “This is big. I’m going to be in the first LIVE music video on a #GRAMMYs commercial break with @Target! #MoreMusic” written in the caption.
Despite performing in the first ever live music video, Gwen did not look nervous at all as was caught Sunday night snuggling with her cowboy at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Party. Could these two be any cuter?
