Five seasons of HBO’s epic parallel universe action series, Game of Thrones, has seen every character in the script suffer — even, thankfully, the evil matriarch of the Lannister family and her insufferable son, Joffrey. Sansa Stark, the eldest of the Stark daughters, has already endured a ceaseless onslaught of hardships and betrayals throughout every season of Thrones, and it seems she just can’t catch a break. New teaser images for Game of Thrones’ Season 6, released on the ‘Making Game of Thrones’ blog on Thursday, hint at a shocking fate for Sansa Stark, which may plunge her deeper into the seven hells of Westeros.
Released by HBO on Thursday, the images have got avid G.O.T. viewers and Stark sympathizers alike asking a different, more dread-ridden question about the current — and future — well-being of the long-suffering Lady Sansa, particularly in light of the survival rate of unborn children in Thrones: do these images show Sansa Stark pregnant?

For the Lannisters, who have occupied the Red Keep — and the infamous Iron Throne — throughout almost the entirety of five years of Game of Thrones, any suffering endured was from an ivory tower, decked with rose petals, while being fanned with palm leaves, drinking ale and eating grapes. For other characters, the game hasn’t been quite as fun. Game of Thrones’ merciless scriptwriters have seen Sansa’s innocent pet wolf murdered, had her betrothed to the psychopathic false-Baratheon Monarch, bereft of her father, brother, mother, and maid, and stolen her away to illusory safety only to end up back in the blood-curdling clutches of evil incarnate in her own former home.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for this red-headed beauty, HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 6 teaser images hint at yet another tragic episode in her life: pregnancy, a condition which she hardly appears healthy enough to endure. If HBO’s images do show Sansa Stark pregnant, this can mean only one thing: she is carrying the bastard child of Ramsay Bolton as a result of being raped by the violent, psychopathic angler for the throne.
The images confirm one positive — that Sansa and the traumatized slave of Bolton, formerly known as Theon Greyjoy, are alive. At the close of Thrones Season 5, they jumped off the wall of Winterfell to escape from their captor, and viewers were left wondering whether or not they survived. The teaser images at least confirm that Greyjoy and Stark are alive in Game of Thrones Season 6— alive, though perhaps not well.

The images may show Sansa Stark pregnant, but they remain the subject of speculation rather than tokens of truth.
Indeed, the Starks might be the most mercilessly punished family in the seven kingdoms of Westeros. Directors Benioff and Weiss have made Game of Thrones an instrument of torture for the downtrodden wolves of Winterfell. Arya, whose movements between King’s Landing, Harrenhal, the Westerosian backcountry, and, finally, Braavos, gave viewers a sense of optimism for the Starks not felt since before the Red Wedding, appears to remain — against our sincerest hopes — blind in the sixth season of Game of Thrones.

There is little that could deter the world from tuning-in to Game of Thrones. The cast and crew took home Emmy Awards in September last year for Outstanding Drama Series, and Game of Thrones has been touted one of the most popular TV shows of all time.
As viewers the world over collectively wonder, “Do these Game of Thrones Season 6 teaser images show Sansa Stark pregnant?”, HBO gears up for the release of the next series of Thrones on April 24, the official preview for which will air this evening at 9 p.m. EST.
