With less than two months to go until WrestleMania 32 weekend, there is not a lot known about what will be happening. Triple H will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event. Sting is being inducted into the Hall of Fame, but that’s really it. Now, a WWE Hall of Famer has gotten a call to be in Dallas for that weekend, and there is already a lot of speculation as to what he could be doing there, and it has to do with the Fabulous Freebirds.
It was noticed by WrestleZone that rumors of the Fabulous Freebirds being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame may have just gotten a big boost . Kevin Von Erich recently received a call to appear in Dallas for that weekend in early April, and that says a lot.
I got a phone call yesterday, Looks like I will be going to Wrestlemania in April, should be a great time.

Anyone that is a longtime or hardcore wrestling fan knows that the Von Erichs are legends in the world of wrestling, and especially in Texas. Having Kevin Von Erich in town for WrestleMania 32 in Dallas is going to be huge on its own, but there is more to it.
What Culturehad a list that had reportedly been leaked for the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame class, and it included the Fabulous Freebirds on it. That’s not confirmed at all yet, and WWE has not announced them as being a part of the class, but word that Kevin Von Erich was asked to be in Dallas does lend to it.
The Von Erichs and the Fabulous Freebirds had legendary and iconic feuds for years and across different promotions. It would be very fitting for Kevin Von Erich to be the one that inducts Michael “PS” Hayes and the rest of the Freebirds.
If WWE does end up inducting the Freebirds into the Hall of Fame, it’s not known what members of the stable will be honored or if it will be all of them. Obviously, Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy won’t be there since he passed away in 2001, but he will likely be honored and inducted postmortem.
The same can be said for Buddy Roberts who passed away in 2012. WWE may also bring in Jimmy Garvin to be inducted with Hayes so it will be the two members who are still alive. Also, there is nothing really known on if Badstreet (Brad Asrmstrong) will be included postmortem as he also passed away in 2012.
All of this is far from confirmed as Sting is the only name that WWE has announced and confirmed will be going into the Hall of Fame for the 2016 class. Other names will be announced, but they simply haven’t been yet.
The other names on the leaked list for the 2016 class are:
- John Bradshaw Layfield aka JBL
- The Fabulous Freebirds
- Charles Wright aka Papa Shango/The Godfather/Kama Mustafa/The Goodfather
- Jacqueline
- Regis Philbin for the celebrity wing
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake aka Ed Leslie has dropped hints that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame “sooner rather than later.” It’s not known if he has actually been told something or when it may be, but Beefcake certainly believes he knows that it is coming.
The Von Erich family was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April of 2009, and they were inducted by none other than Michael “PS” Hayes. It seems very fitting that Kevin Von Erich would be the one to be in Dallas for WrestleMania 32 weekend and induct the Fabulous Freebirds.
