Carrie Underwood Surprises Fans With Undercover Prank [Video]
Carrie Underwood is surprising fans and going undercover.
In a new video, Underwood shocked shoppers during a recent prank at a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Nashville, Tennessee, where she posed as an employee to surprise customers buying pieces from her athleisure line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood.
In the hilarious undercover video, Carrie can be spotted donning a brunette wig, glasses and a baseball cap as she deceives unsuspecting customers by telling them that she’s “the head of Dick’s Sporting Goods stores” visiting the music city branch to oversee sales.
While a number of shoppers failed to realize that the sales assistant was actually the seven time Grammy winner herself, it turns out Carrie’s elaborate disguise didn’t exactly work so well on everyone as a couple of fans quickly spotted the country superstar despite her much darker hair hue.
But just because Carrie Underwood tried out a simpler life with her undercover prank, that certainly doesn’t mean the “Something In The Water” singer waved bye bye to life in the spotlight completely. After her cover was blown, Underwood even gathered together some fellow Dick’s Sporting Goods employees to perform very special version of her 2006 multi-platinum hit “Before He Cheats.”

But a sporting store rendition of one of her most popular tracks isn’t the only Carrie Underwood duet receiving a whole lot of attention recently.
Underwood took to Twitter on February 11, to share a behind-the-scenes photo of herself and rising country star Sam Hunt rehearsing for their upcoming Grammy performance, set to take place on February 15.
“So excited to be heading back to @TheGRAMMYs stage!” Carrie Underwood told her almost 5 million Twitter followers on January 27, teasing, “And with the amazingly talented @SamHuntMusic #GRAMMYs.”
Hunt, who’s nominated for Best New Artist and Country Album of the Year for his debut release Montevallo at the prestigious music awards show, recently opened up about his upcoming performance with Carrie Underwood with Access Hollywood where he revealed that their big performance will be “special.”

“It’s going to be special for me because I’ve been a fan of hers for such a long time,” the “House Party” singer recently told Access Hollywood, even describing Underwood as “country music royalty.”
“She has such a great voice and is such a great performer,” Sam continued, joking, “so I’m just going to try and stay out of her way!”
The rising country star also confirmed in the interview that he and Underwood will be performing a “blend of a few songs” when they take to the stage together, which it’s thought will likely include Carrie’s current single, “Heartbeat,” on which Sam provided backing vocals.
Underwood also recently spoke out about she approached Hunt to provide vocals on the romantic ballad in an interview with Billboard, where she confessed that she actually left the job to producer Zach Crowell.
“We didn’t want to be like, ‘Hey, Zach, we know you know Sam really well’ — wink, wink, nudge, nudge, ‘Ask him please’ — and put him in a weird position,” Underwood joked to the site of trying to catch Sam’s attention for “Heartbeat.”
But despite Underwood’s initial reservations to approach the rising country star, Billboard revealed that Sam actually jumped at the chance to work with Carrie when the opportunity arose last year. “He’s very present in it but not dominating at all,” songwriter Ashley Gorley told the site of Hunt’s contributions to “Hearbeat” last month, adding that that’s “kind of the guy’s role in the song,”
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards are set to air on CBS on Monday February 15, at 7p.m. ET.
