It looks like Kanye West is on the outs with the whole Swift family again after the debut of his new album The Life of Pablo. On Kanye’s newest album, a track titled “Famous,” Kanye takes shots at Taylor Swift with a line that has her fans furious. Right now there is debate over whether Taylor knew the line was coming and Kanye West claims that she not only knew about it but approved of it as well. One of Taylor’s biggest fans is so mad at Kanye over the disrespect that he’s taking matters into his own hands. Taylor’s brother Austin Swift took to Instagram and posted his reaction following Kanye’s new album release during the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show.
Kanye and Taylor have reportedly started a new feud over the lyrics of Kanye’s newest song. In “Famous,” Kanye rapped about his infamous 2009 MTV VMAs run-in with Swift when he interrupted her acceptance speech and declared Beyoncé the greatest of all time. Pretty much anyone who is a fan of music, whether they lean toward Kanye or Taylor, certainly remembers the epic moment in music awards show history.
In Kanye’s song, he claims that he made Taylor Swift famous, presumably because of that moment that still gets talked about to this day. What West seems to forget is that Taylor was on stage accepting an award for Best Female Video. It’s pretty safe to say that Taylor Swift was plenty famous before Kanye ever got his hands on her stage time. We should probably chalk the song lyrics in Kanye’s newest offering up to artistic expression because he definitely had nothing to do with Swift’s fame. Then again, he also seems confused about the type of album he created because Kanye keeps insisting that The Life of Pablo is a gospel album when the profanity-laced music is definitely not gospel.

One of Taylor’s biggest fans is the most upset about Yeezy’s diss. The Shade Room reported that Austin Swift can’t believe Kanye took the liberty to speak of his sister the way he did in “Famous.” Kanye rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b***h famous.” It’s easy to see why Austin would be so upset. No one wants to see their own sister talked about the way Kanye addressed Taylor in his new song, not to mention that Austin and Taylor are really close.
Maybe that’s why Austin Swift jumped on Instagram to show his reaction to Kanye West’s new album. Austin captioned a short video, “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning. Here we go again.” In the video, Swift is carrying a garbage can when he grabs a pair of Yeezy sneakers and tosses them in the trash before walking out of the room.

Gigi Hadid also had something to say about Kanye’s questionable lyric. Hadid is friends with Taylor but was also in attendance at the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. The model felt obligated to get on Twitter to defend Taylor. “My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty,” Gigi tweeted.
Currently, there is an argument brewing about whether Taylor knew of the lyric or approved of Kanye rapping about her beforehand. Kanye claims that Taylor knew and thought it was funny. Taylor’s rep told TMZ quite the opposite. “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric,” according to Swift’s rep. So much for a collaboration between Yeezy and Swift. Kanye might also want to watch out for Taylor’s brother Austin Swift.
