Liam Neeson Sets Things Straight About His New Love Interest

Rumors have been flying around the media and social media about the “incredibly famous” woman Liam Neeson claimed to have fallen in love with. The actor has now finally things straight.

It has been seven years since actor Liam Neeson’s wife, Natasha Richardson, died tragically in a skiing accident, and the Taken star confirmed this week that he is finally romantically involved again.

He told reporters this week that he had finally found love with an “incredibly famous” woman. As reported by the Inquisitr, Neeson told the media he had a new and famous love, but that he wished to keep their relationship private as long as he can, mainly for her sake.

“I’d embarrass her if I said her name, she’s incredibly famous.”

This naturally caused rumors to spin, linking Neeson with everyone from Twilight actress Kristen Stewart to Susan Sarandon, Madonna, and even Mad Max: Fury Road tough girl Charlize Theron.

The latest rumor that his love interest could be Charlize Theron was reported a day or so ago and was caused by the fact that Theron was Liam Neeson’s co-star in the film A Million Ways to Die in the West. It seems he and the South African actress were rumored to be pretty close during the making of the movie, but apparently that’s not that close.

It turns out Liam Neeson is a bit of a joker. It seems Neeson has probably been sitting back and laughing as the rumors did the rounds, and he finally decided to put the whole thing to rest and come clean on the love story. Well, to a certain extent anyway, as we still don’t know the lady’s name.

He has now confirmed that he was just kidding when he told the Irish Independent reporter that the new lady in his life was “incredibly famous.” However, he is, indeed, taken – if you will excuse the pun.

A representative for Neeson reportedly confirmed to Mirror Celebs, saying, “He was joking with the writer during an interview he was doing with the Irish Independent.”

The rep went on to say that Liam is indeed in love but that the new lady in his life is not famous at all.

People reports the rep told them that Liam was joking, but that the “humorous tone of that statement did not translate in the printed version of the interview.”

What Neeson, 63, said about his plans for Valentine’s Day were apparently true.

He said in the original interview, “I’ll have to do my best for her. It’s amazing how far a simple bunch of freshly picked flowers will go in a lady’s life.”

While Liam Neeson will always miss his wife, Natasha Richardson, he is now reportedly attempting to move on despite the grief. At the time of the interview, Neeson described her sudden death as still being a “touchy subject” and that of course the grief will always be with him, but he says “you do your best.”

As far as the media knows, the only girlfriend Liam Neeson has been involved with since the death of his wife was PR exec Freya St Johnson, but reportedly that relationship ended in 2012, when Liam decided he wanted to spend more time with his children in New York.

Hopefully, the rumor mills and the public at large will now give Liam and his new lady love the privacy to get on with their lives. Let us all wish Happy Valentine’s Day to Liam Neeson and his new, and very lucky, lady.
