WWE Rumors: Big Match Planned For Brock Lesnar At ‘SummerSlam’ — Fans Will Hate It
SummerSlam is still a good six months away, but that doesn’t mean WWE isn’t already looking at plans for it. Yes, Fastlane is next up on the slate, and then WrestleMania 32 in early April, but the end of the summer spectacular takes a lot of planning. As expected, Brock Lesnar will be involved in one of the top matches on the card, and it looks as if his opponent may already have been decided, and fans are not going to be happy about it.
Please let it be known that even though this information states what is rumored to happen at SummerSlam, half a year is a long time. Anything is possible to change between now and then, especially in WWE.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar is going to once again be in a top match on the SummerSlam card, but it will be new territory for his opponent. The match will likely be seen as one of the top two, and as of now, Lesnar is going to be taking on Braun Strowman.
Believe it or not, it looks as if 2016 is going to be the year of Braun Strowman, with the giant of The Wyatt Family getting a mega-push.First of all, as Inquisitr reported earlier, Strowman is now set to be in the third annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. It is expected that he’s going to win that match and be pushed as the next “monster” on WWE’s main roster.
From that point, Strowman is likely going to be thrown into a few with Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It is expected that Reigns will win at Fastlane and then go on to defeat Triple H for the title at WrestleMania 32.
It’s not been said if Strowman is going to ever end up capturing the WWE Title from Reigns, but it is rumored that they will begin a feud leading into the summer. After this feud is over, that is when Reigns is going to move onto a battle with Brock Lesnar.
The Wyatt Family and Brock Lesnar have already had some run-ins over the course of the last month. It is looking more and more like Lesnar will be taking on Bray Wyatt at the huge Pay-Per-View in early April, and now Strowman will be in the battle royal.WrestleZone has confirmed that the original WrestleMania 32 plans for Braun Strowman were for him to face off with The Undertaker, but those plans have been cancelled.
Once word got around that a Strowman vs. Undertaker match was being discussed, it was not met with a lot of positive reaction. Online backlash from the fans was actually so negative and down on the idea that WWE reportedly cancelled those plans within 24 hours of them leaking out.
No matter what happens between Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesnar, it seems as if WWE is set on having Strowman take on Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Braun Strowman is being seen as one of Vince McMahon’s pet “projects,” and that he has a lot of interest in the big giant. He does have the look about it that would have easily made him one of “Vince McMahon’s guys” back in the ’80s and ’90s.
Brock Lesnar is easily one of the biggest stars in all of WWE, and he’s going to be just that until he retires from the ring. Now, Braun Strowman is being seen as the next big thing, and if plans continue as they are, he’s going to take on the “Beast Incarnate” at SummerSlam.
