Jessica Simpson Reveals Big Plans To Return To Music
Jessica Simpson is revealing her big plans to return to the music scene.
Jessica took to Instagram on February 11 to reveal that she was officially back in the studio and appeared to confirm that she’s officially started work on her sixth studio album.
“It is happening underground,” Simpson cryptically captioned the black and white photo, adding the hashtag “#donotwakethebabies.”
Although Jessica played coy with the photo’s caption, it’s thought that Simpson was showing off her impressive home studio that she teased was currently in production during an interview with Extra last March, where she revealed that the impressive room was in the process of being installed into the basement of her Los Angeles home.
“Right now, I’m starting a record, and I’m getting into a lot of other fun things,” Jessica Simpson told Extra last year, revealing that she was in the process of having an a home studio built to allow her to “be around [her] babies,” Maxwell, 3, and Ace, 2.
Simpson even joked during the red-carpet interview that she thought her children “might try and sing over [her]” in her own personal studio.
“They won’t be my background vocalists, they’ll be like ‘ahhh!'” Jessica told Extra, “They’ll be upfront and personal.”
It’s thought that Simpson’s recent foray back into the music world marks plans to release her first non-holiday studio album since 2008’s country influenced release Do You Know, which charted inside the top 5 on the Billboard Top 200 and at the top spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums charts seven years ago.
InTouch Weekly previously confirmed that Jessica Simpson was planning on releasing another album in January 2015 after an insider revealed that Jessica had made it her New Year’s resolution to get back into the studio.
An insider close to Jessica revealed at the time that Simpson had “told friends she’d love to record another album” and added that returning to music was her “New Year’s resolution.”
The site also revealed that Simpson started the ball rolling on her triumphant return early last year, which allegedly included surrounding herself with a super team of high-powered music executives who would help her to return to the music world.
“The plan is to get the new album recorded this year and go on tour the following,” the source told InTouch Weekly, adding that “Jessica has missed performing so much. She’s very excited.”
But it looks like Jessica’s not the only one who’s excited about her return to the stage.
A number of Simpson’s fans took to social media following Jessica’s new music confession and couldn’t seem to hide their excitement over the possibility of new music from the Jessica Simpson Collection fashion and lifestyle founder.
“Looks like @JessicaSimpson is making more music!!! #Idol,” @Jess_martin333 tweeted out on February 11, while @ILoveHoopla wrote on the 140-character site, “Wow. Blast from the past. Jessica Simpson is recording new music.”
Although Jessica didn’t reveal whether she’ll be continuing her career in country music or returning to the more pop sound she put out with her 2003 multi-platinum release In This Skin, there’s no doubting that Simpson will have a whole lot of inspiration since she last released new music into the world.
Jessica most recently opened up about her daughter Maxwell on her official Instagram page, where she joked that the youngster is “3 going on 13.” Just days earlier, Simpson posted another shot of herself posing with her daughter, where she revealed that Maxwell was teaching her mom how to pose.
“Be cool and kiss the camera mom” – Maxwell Drew,” Simpson captioned the adorable black-and-white selfie of the twosome.
