Super Bowl Trailers: New ‘Captain America: Civil War’ TV Spot Wants You To Choose Your Side
The battle lines have officially been drawn, and the first big movie trailer to be dropped during Super Bowl 50 came from none other than Marvel. A new TV spot was released for Captain America: Civil War, and it was short, but an incredibly awesome one. Marvel wants you to “Choose Your Side” as you can go with Captain America or Iron Man.
Almost instantly, and even a little bit before it aired on TV during the pre-game of the Super Bowl, the trailer had landed online and Kotaku had it. They even captured one of the best scenes in a gif as the Winter Soldier and Iron Man get into it.
Even though it’s already been seen in previous trailers and TV spots, this is the first time that Marvel has totally pitted the two sides against one another. Marvel wants fans to let them know if they are #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan with those specific hashtags.
As obviously seen in the screenshot, Captain America is joined by a rather strong team of partners in Civil War. Joining Captain America will be:
- Falcon
- Ant-Man
- Hawkeye
- Scarlet Witch
- Winter Soldier
While anyone may think that’s a very strong team, it’s hard to think that Iron Man’s squad isn’t a lot stronger. Knowing just that Vision is on Tony Stark’s team is enough alone to make people believe that they have the advantage. Iron Man is joined by:
- Vision
- War Machine
- Black Widow
- Black Panther
Sure, they’re outnumbered by one, but it’s hard to really say that they are at any kind of disadvantage. Let’s not forger that Spider-Man is still the wild card in all of this as well since he’ll be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
One of the biggest things that many are wondering is just who will make it through Civil War unscathed. Will everyone survive? With Infinity War bringing together almost the entire MCU, there has to be enough to make it one of the biggest comic book movies ever.
While it may be short, plenty is shown in this trailer that hadn’t been seen before, and it has fans even more excited. May 6 can’t come soon enough, but at least there will be some comic book fun to tide everyone over when Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in March.
Marvel vs. DC is heating up in theaters and this is going to be a big year for both to see who may take the lead in the war.

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
Fans can’t wait for this one to drop into theaters, and it’s only setting the path for more to come in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain America: Civil War is going to pit your favorite heroes against their biggest challenge – themselves. This new TV spot and Super Bowl 50 trailer lets even the fans know that it is time to choose your side.
