Gwyneth Paltrow’s Instagram Selfie With 11-Year-Old Daughter Apple Gets 64,500 Likes
Those who remember when Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-husband Chris Martin had their baby girl, Apple, might be amazed at how grown up Apple now looks in Paltrow’s Instagram selfie with her mom, seen below. Within 14 hours of posting the selfie photo, Gwyneth had received 64,500 Instagram likes for the photo with Apple, which was uploaded on Saturday, February 6, at approximately midnight ET.
Paltrow and Martin made news when they decided to separate after 11 years of marriage. Gwyneth’s blog called the divorce a decision to “consciously uncouple,” and it was a term that was bandied about, copied and mocked for a long time afterward. However, the couple’s decision that they had “come to the conclusion that while [they] love each other very much [they] will remain separate” was sad news for fans of the actress and the lead singer of Coldplay.
Chris and Gwyneth have two children, their daughter Apple and their son Moses. The couple was once held up as one of those Hollywood couples that seemingly had a successful marriage — at least from afar. Now, with the viral selfie photo of Paltrow and Apple, folks are commenting on which parent they believe Apple takes after, be it her dad, Chris, or mom, Gwyneth.
The beautiful girl was the subject of numerous celebrity news reports when her name Apple was made public. Some critics commented that Apple was a wacky celebrity name, while others thought it was uniquely beautiful. Now that Gwyneth’s Instagram photo has proven what a gorgeous girl Apple is growing into, there’s plenty of feedback from her social media followers displaying their thoughts of Paltrow and her daughter.
Although People says Apple is Gwyneth’s little “mini-me,” the verdict is out on whom the 11-year-old girl resembles more. Some call Apple the spitting image of her dad, since Apple’s lips and other features seem quite like her father. Others think Apple looks just like mom. A third group is commenting that Apple is the perfect blend of both Chris and Gwyneth.
The 43-year-old Paltrow appears with her hair down in the Instagram photo, just like Apple wears her hair for the Instagram selfie, adding to the “twin” type of look.
The photo of Apple can’t help but remind the public of Paltrow and Martin, and their sad breakup. Coldplay’s song “Magic” speaks of Martin being “broken into two,” but still believing in magic after the break-up, as seen in the lyrics on Google Play.

For her part, Gwyneth didn’t add a description to the Instagram photo, which left some of Paltrow’s Instagram followers asking who the girl was in the photo. Other Instagram followers answered one another, revealing that the young woman was Apple.
The rainbow filter gave a mysterious look to the Instagram photo, and the comments left by Instagram followers show how much they love Paltrow’s Instagram pic.
