Super Bowl Ticket Prices Surge — $3K For Cheap Seats At Levi’s Stadium For Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos

Fans hoping to watch the Carolina Panthers vs. the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, better get ready to open their wallets. Prices for seats to watch the big game this year are surging on sites like StubHub with tickets costing at least $3k for cheap seats. According to Yahoo Finance, the cheapest seats for the Super Bowl can be found in the upper corner of the end zone, so high up in the nosebleeds that ticketholders of these “cheap seats” will have a hard time even seeing the game.

Ticket prices only start at $3,000 and rise significantly from there. The average ticket price on StubHub has been recorded around $4,500 each, while SeatGeek is reporting the average Super Bowl 50 ticket price to be $4,847. “Prices are holding steady,” said Jason Deppen, StubHub’s director of field operations. Deppen went on to explain that in Super Bowl history, StubHub and other ticket vendors usually see ticket prices dip on Super Bowl Sunday, with many who hope to sell those cheap seats at a much higher price lowering their offers in order to ensure tickets get sold. Not this year, though, as prices for Super Bowl tickets are holding steady, with even the cheapest seats going for a whopping $3k each.

“We have not seen a lot of downward trend movement, which we have seen in the past at other Super Bowls. I don’t know if I expect it to go too much down on how much inventory is left on game day,” Deppen said. There are a few reasons why Super Bowl 50 tickets are selling at a higher rate and prices aren’t falling like in past Super Bowls.

Super Bowl 50, which turned out to be a matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Unlike many previous Super Bowls, the weather for this game is pretty much guaranteed to be great. Not to mention that Levi’s Stadium is nearly brand new, having opened in July, 2014. Another reason fans are clamoring to buy tickets for Super Bowl 50 stems from some pretty strong rumors that Peyton Manning might be retiring after the big game. Will he go out with another ring, or will Cam Newton get the glory? Many NFL fans are willing to pay the huge price, ranging from $3k to over $20k each, to watch the Carolina Panthers vs. the Denver Broncos.

At least buying Super Bowl 50 tickets from StubHub comes with some perks. The ticket seller is offering what they call “Fan Fair.” This means that everyone who buys Super Bowl 50 tickets from StubHub, even those purchasing the cheap seats for $3k, get to enjoy the Great America amusement park before the game for free. This is very convenient for those holding Super Bowl tickets, since Great America is literally just across the street from Levi’s Stadium. StubHub rented the park for the day, and their ticket holders are free to ride a few rides before heading on over to Levi’s Stadium to watch the Carolina Panthers vs. the Denver Broncos.

Ticket prices for Super Bowl 50 are not only holding steady, but they’re also the most expensive in the history of the game. So far, the most expensive pair of tickets sold for $20,500 each, and are near the 50-yard line. This is a huge markup from the actual face value of Super Bowl tickets. Pix 11 reported the face value prices to be $850 to $1,800 each, with some of the club seats with extra perks ranging around $3k each. That’s a far cry from the $3k each that resellers are getting for the cheapest seats up in the far corners of Levi’s Stadium.

Would you be willing to pay $3k for cheap seats to see the Denver Broncos face off against the Carolina Panthers for Super Bowl 50? For those opting to watch the game for free, Super Bowl 50 will be aired on CBS at 6:30 p.m. EST.
