Star Wars Covers “Call Me Maybe” By Carly Rae Jepsen
The original Star Wars trilogy has been re-imagined, this time in such a way as to sing the hit song “Call Me Maybe” by singer Carly Rae Jepsen.
The start of the song’s video cuts are a little rough for my liking but as the James Covenant created clip moves along, especially into the chorus it does get better.
If you are unfamiliar with fan creations that used dubbed song creations the creator finds all of the words for a song within a movie or set of movies and then cuts those words together in order to match the placement of words with the beats from the song. The process can be tedious but a true joy to watch for big fans of popular movies.
This type of work is typically done by a fan fanatic and while James only has several Star Wars videos on his YouTube account we’ll likely see more of his work now that his video is starting to trend online.
Apologies if the video eventually disappears from the page, George Lucas tends to protect his prized movie franchise religiously.
I particularly like the creative use of subtitles for part of the songs “foreign language” parts.

This isn’t even the first time George Lucas has been involved in a parody in some way over the last month, check out the Goyte parody “Star Wars That I Use To Know” which is shown below:
