‘LHHNY’ Star Mendeecees Harris No Snitch — Yandy Smith Continues To Support Incarcerated Husband
Mendeecees Harris wants his fans to know that he’s not a snitch. The Love & Hip Hop: New York star spoke out about his sentencing after speculation that Mendeecees turned on some of his closest friends in exchange for a lighter prison sentence. Just before turning himself in for an eight-year prison sentence, Mendeecees took the time for one more podcast interview. In it, Harris addressed rumors that had snitched on a few rappers in order to win a reduced sentence.
It looks like the rumors about Mendeecees ratting to federal prosecutors in exchange for a reduced sentence started when the reality TV star opted not to go to trial on federal charges that he had been trafficking heroin. On the Tax Season podcast where Mendeecees dished on his prison sentence and all the snitching rumors that won’t seem to go away, the LHHNY star dished on why he chose not to go to trial. Harris reportedly told the interviewer, Taxstone, “Who in their right mind would go against the feds?”

Mendeecees had reportedly been looking at a 20-year sentence for the drug trafficking charges against him. When he was only sentenced to 97 months, which breaks down to eight years and one month, there were several reports that Mendeecees was working with the feds in order to win such a short sentence for the very serious charges against him. The LHHNY star was accused of turning on his friends, Juelz Santana and Vado, in exchange for a lighter sentence but Mendeecees says that isn’t even possible. “I didn’t know them when they were in the streets. He [Vado] was never selling no drugs. [The fact that] people believe everything they read is sad.”
As for the claims that Mendeecees was looking at a 20-year sentence, he claims that was never even on the table. According to the incarcerated LHHNY star, the plea deal was always for 10 years. The idea of a 20-year sentence hinged on Mendeecees going to trial and losing but that did not happen. Ultimately, the judge sentenced Mendeecees to 97 months with an additional five years of probation.

Mendeecees reported to prison at a federal facility in Pennsylvania in January. Yandy Smith’s husband had already served 15 months prior to pleading guilty and only has about seven years left. Hopefully there won’t be more rumors of Mendeecees being a snitch after he gets out when those not paying attention do the math and realize just how long he stayed in prison after reaching a deal with federal prosecutors.
Meanwhile, Mendeecees’ wife has remained supportive of her husband throughout the trial and after his sentencing. After learning of her husband’s 97-month sentence back in December, Yandy Smith posted to Instagram to thank fans and proclaim that “love will prevail.” Soon after, Yandy was criticized for throwing a huge going-away party for Mendeecees before he checked into prison. Most recenty, Yandy posted family photos that included Mendeecees and their daughter. The pictures were reportedly taken for their daughter’s first birthday back in November but were posted just two weeks ago.
It’s pretty clear that Yandy Smith is just counting down the days until Mendeecees Harris gets to come home to his family. Mendeecees made it clear that his drug conviction doesn’t mean his life is over. After serving time in a federal prison for some serious drug trafficking charges, Mendeecees says he might start his own music career when he gets out. Do you think Mendeecees would do well as an artist or should he stick to management?
