Miley Cyrus Joining ‘The Voice’ As A Mentor — See What Role She’ll Play
Miley Cyrus is joining The Voice for Season 10, the Today show confirmed Thursday.
Cyrus tweeted the announcement today on her Twitter account, sharing the information in a way only Miley could have concocted.

Unlike other mentors that have been announced for this season’s The Voice, Cyrus will serve all the contestants as a Key Adviser by mentoring them in the competitive knockout round of the series. Taylor Swift and Rhianna have served in a similar capacity as Miley will for season 10, E! Online reported.
Paul Telegdy, the NBC entertainment president for alternative and late night programming, said that Miley brings a wealth of knowledge for the contestants on The Voice.
“When Miley speaks everyone pays attention. Our artists are very lucky to have the benefit of her instincts and wisdom. Our viewers will be treated to an inside look at one of the brightest minds in music and the entertainment industry who is at the forefront of pop culture.”
Miley took to her Instagram account to share another image from the set. Cyrus posted an image of her with the same hashtags as her previous tweet on the subject.
Miley isn’t the only high-anticipated celebrity joining The Voice this season. The Inquisitr previously reported that judge Blake Shelton had asked his girlfriend Gwen Stefani to serve as a mentor this season. After joining The Voice as a judge two of the previous three seasons, the dynamic between the couple will be an interesting one.
Before the announcement Stefani was joining The Voice as a mentor was confirmed, NBC’s Paul Telegdy praised Gwen for her contributions as a judge.
“We’re announcing those advisers in the next couple of weeks but [Stefani is] very close to the show. We’d love to see Gwen back. She’s a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her.”
Joining Cyrus and Stefani as The Voice mentors this season are Sean “Diddy” Combs, Tori Kelley and Patti LaBelle, Us Weekly reported last month. Combs will be working with judge Pharrell Williams while Adam Levine invited Kelly to mentor his group. Soul legend Patti LaBelle rounds out the mentors as she will be joining Christina Aguilera for the upcoming season of The Voice.
Season 10 of The Voice returns Monday, Feb. 29 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
Before the announcement that Cyrus would be joining The Voice for season 10, Miley had been in the news with her shocking reunion with former boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus and Hemsworth rekindled their love in Australia over the holidays, and Miley promptly moved in with Liam once the two returned to California.

Prior to their reunion, Miley was taking the bizarre to a whole new level. Cyrus served as the host of the MTV Video Music Awards, engaging in a feud with VMA winner Nicki Minaj while on stage for comments that were made prior to the show. Miley ended the show by announcing she was releasing a new 23-song album called Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz for free.
Cyrus later announced a concert series for herself entitled Milky, Milky Milk Tour, an eight-stop tour that launched concluded just before Miley headed to Australia in December. In between, Cyrus had several other lewd acts that sparked rumors the “Wrecking Ball” singer was near the end of her career, the Inquisitr reported.
Beyond joining The Voice this season, Cyrus already announced she will be working with Woody Allen on a new, untitled series. The show is set to air on Amazon in 2016.
