Founder Of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Now Fourth Richest Person In The World
Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of the largest social media website in the world, Facebook, is now the fourth richest person in the world, according to Fortune. The report states that Zuckerberg’s Facebook stock went up by $50 billion this week. He is making a fortune on technology.
Fortune says that Zuckerberg surpassed a few people who were in the fourth and fifth place of richest people in the world, including the billionaire from Mexico, Carlos Slim Helu, and Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos. You can check out the list of billionaires on Bloomberg‘s billionaire list
The Economic Times reports, Facebook went up in stock by 9.5 percent this year already. Facebook is now the fourth most valuable company in the world, after of course Alphabet (Google’s parent company), Apple, and Microsoft.
Zuckerberg is actually the only person, within the top five richest people, to see his fortune increase this year, according to Bloomberg. In fact, Facebook’s stock even passed up Exxon Mobile, which is the world’s largest publicly traded oil company.
How does Mark Zuckerberg feel about being the fourth richest person in the world? According to Venture Beat, Zuckerberg has predicted Facebook will increase its social media users to five billion users by the year of 2030. He feels so confident about his company that he has predicted this about the social media network. It most likely will happen, he says, because Facebook is already the largest social media website in the world and used by 1.27 billion users as of January 27, 2016.
Not only is Zuckerberg celebrating being the fourth richest person in the world right now, but today makes 12 years for Facebook being online, according to Tech Crunch. It is amazing how much has happened throughout the years since Facebook first started 12 years ago today. With being online for 12 years now, Facebook is calling today Friends Day.
Zuckerberg does, indeed, have a lot to celebrate right now.
Everything seems to be going positive for Zuckerberg all at once since, back in December, his wife gave birth to their baby daughter, Max. According to ABC News, Zuckerberg says it is now hard to go to work in the morning because he doesn’t want to miss any moment with his first born child. In fact, as reported by ABC News, Zuckerberg also plans on using virtual reality to capture his daughter taking her very first steps. He says, this way, everyone can experience the first steps of his baby daughter, including his parents and grandparents, even if they aren’t there, because they will be placed in the scene with 360 virtual reality he plans to use.
Zuckerberg stated the above when announcing the 12th birthday of Facebook, Friend’s Day. Friend’s Day is celebrated by all Facebook users because when they log-in or while they are on Facebook, a message comes up letting them know there is a video made for them from memories and photos Facebook users posted over the 12 years it has been online. Facebook users can see this video from Friend’s Day and share it with their friends.
ABC News also stated that Zuckerberg says he sees tremendous power in the medium, virtual reality as technology rapidly advances.
In fact, Zuckerberg had this to say about the power of virtual reality and what the medium can do for everyone,
There is just an emotional power to that and ability to convey an idea in a much stronger way. Actually, being able to feel like you are there is going to be amazingly powerful when the medium becomes matured.
