Square Enix is set to announce the release date for Final Fantasy XV at a fan event in Los Angeles, California, on March 30. The fan event will be streamed live from the Shrine Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets for the free event become available on Friday, February 5, at 4 p.m. PST.
Details for the Final Fantasy XV March fan event were first unveiled during the January Active Time Report live stream hosted by Director Hajime Tabata and Global Marketing Director Akio Ofuji. Tabata assured fans the game’s contents, pricing, and release date will all be “uncovered” at the event in addition to some other “surprises.” Among the surprises could be a playable tech demo. As detailed during the Active Time Report, Final Fantasy XV must be at a beta quality level by the March fan event. Tabata also shared his desire to give all players, both fans and curious gamers, a demo experience that will be noticeably different from the somewhat exclusive Episode Duscae demo experience.

Hosting the festivities at the Shrine Auditorium will be Kinda Funny ‘s Greg Miller and Tim Gettys. Per his tweet, Greg Miller refers to himself as a Final Fantasy “noob,” while Gettys is the fan of the duo. It seems the duo will not just host the event, but also provide candid feedback that will appeal to avid fans and those new to the franchise.
Fans from all over the globe are encouraged to tune in to the livestream via YouTube or Twitch , but only U.S. residents are permitted to attend the fan event in person. Per the fine print on Square Enix’s latest press release, additional events in other regions may be scheduled leading up to the game’s release date.
“RSVP / tickets for US residents only. Square Enix apologizes to anyone that wishes to attend that is not a US resident. If you cannot attend in person, please join us via the livestream and enjoy the show.
