Former Dallas Cowboys Star Joseph Randle Arrested Again, Ruining NFL Chances
Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle has been arrested again, and he is ruining whatever little chance that he had left to play in the NFL with every single incident, according to NBC Sports.
Joseph Randle has an outstanding warrant for his arrest due to a speeding incident. He knows that, and the people in his life know that. However, that was not a consideration when the situation leading to his arrest took place early Monday morning. Something that could have easily been avoided turned into yet another headline for Randle.
According to what Joseph Randle told Irving police, he had gone to the house of his former girlfriend to see if he could get a place to sleep before driving up to Kansas, where he reportedly has a home. The ex-girlfriend and the people living at the house wanted nothing to do with Randle, so an incident took place, which led to the police being called. Upon finding Randle and putting his name into the system, they arrested him after finding out about the outstanding warrant.
The first question that comes to mind is why Joseph Randle didn’t find a cheap motel to sleep in. There are places in the Dallas area where you can get a bed for under $30. It might not be the fanciest of places, but you will increase your chances of not being arrested by a pretty high percentage.
The more important question that comes to mind is whether or not this latest arrest marks the final chance that Joseph Randle had at continuing his NFL career. While it’s true that general managers and coaches in the NFL are always looking for talent, they might not want the headache associated with someone like Randle. Plus, there are dozens of talented running backs coming out of college in the next few weeks.
If this is the end of the road for Joseph Randle, then it is a pretty sad fall, something the NFL has unfortunately seen too often over the years. Randle was once pegged to be the man to replace DeMarco Murray, who broke the single-season rushing record held by Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith, a feat not easy to do. Joseph was primed for a featured spot, and he let it slip away from his fingers because of bad decisions.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett are looking for another running back this offseason. Darren McFadden did a better than expected job this past season, but he remains injury prone. Unfortunately for Joseph Randle, though, that doesn’t mean his chances of making a return to the team are any greater. Jones and Garrett will more than likely look into the NFL Draft or free agency to find that player.
The best thing that Joseph Randle can do right now is to get his legal issues in check and then start focusing on football once again. By doing that, he might be able to keep himself out of trouble. Getting back into football shape means that he might get another chance in the NFL, as in season injuries happen every single year. Some team might be desperate enough to give him another chance next season, so he needs to stay ready and stay out of jail.
If Joseph Randle opts not to go that route, then he will be in contention with Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel for the title of the most self-destructive player in the NFL. Manziel was involved in another incident with his girlfriend, where the Fort Worth police department had to use a helicopter for the situation.
