‘Oz The Great And Powerful’ Trailer Debuts At Comic-Con
Comic-Con visitors were treated on Thursday to the trailer for Oz The Great Powerful, the Sam Raimi directed flick which re-imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s leader of Oz.
James Franco plays the leading role in the special effects heavy movie:
Here’s a quick synopsis for Oz The Great Powerful:
“Oscar Diggs, an ethically grey circus magician is flung from Kansas to the Land of Oz, where fame and fortune are ripe for the taking from the naive masses. His plans come under fire though when three witches, played by Mila Kunis (Theodora), Rachel Weisz (Evanora), and Michelle Williams (Glinda) become suspicious of his claim to magical power.”
I personally like the movie opening in black white and then jumping into Technicolor, a great shout back to the Wizard of Oz.
As expected for a magic filled movie from Sam Raimi there are plenty of special effects, bright colors and an eye for leaving us hanging.
If you watch the trailer and simply can’t wait for the movie to be released your out of luck, Oz The Great Powerful won’t reach theaters until March 2013.

In the meantime I have a hard time believing that James Franco ends up being the lonely old man behind the curtain in the original Wizard of Oz movie:
Will you be running out to theaters to see Oz The Great Powerful when it debuts next year?
