Ian Somerhalder To Reunite With Nina Dobrev? Nope, ‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Happiest Man Alive With Nikki Reed

For those that hoped Ian Somerhalder would eventually make his way back to Nina Dobrev, think again. Not only is The Vampire Diaries star nowhere near a reunion with Dobrev, but Somerhalder is more than happy with his current marriage with Nikki Reed.

In a recent post to Instagram, Somerhalder shared an old photograph from his wedding with Reed. The two are featured posing together in the photo, which was taken right after they exchanged vows.

“9 months of amazing marriage to this amazing human,” Somerhalder wrote alongside the image. “Happy 9 months my one and only human – I can’t wait for the rest. So many many many more to come and fill with memories. I love you.”

According to Movie Pilot, the two officially tied the knot in the spring of 2015. The outdoor wedding took place in Malibu and featured some gorgeous backdrops and lovely scenery that complimented the event well.

The recent display of affection on social media is nothing new for the couple. In fact, Brides is reporting that Somerhalder and the Twilight alum often take to social media to express their love for each other. During Somerhalder’s birthday celebrations last month, Reed shared a few special words for her significant other on Instagram.

“You are my every dream brought to life. With our hands pressed together I know that we will always find our way home. You are a gift to this world, a teacher of light and a student of love. You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues,” Reed wrote to her husband. “I often wonder what it would be like to see autumn arrive through your eyes. Here is to the next 65 years together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening. Happy happy birthday…I love you.”

The outpourings of love on social media follow reports of a troubled relationship. For the most part, many have speculated that Somerhalder’s desire to have children has driven a wedge between the couple, opening up the possibility that he would return to his former Vampire Diaries co-star for comfort.

However, given the nature of their public displays as of late, Somerhalder appears more than content in his marriage with Reed. Somerhalder’s happiness with Reed makes sense, especially considering their shared interests and passions outside of the acting world.

As fans are well aware, both Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed share a passion for animal rights. Not only do they often promote animal rights and environmental awareness on social media, but Somerhalder has started his own organization that helps out in both of these causes. Their willingness to speak out for animal rights as advocates has enabled them to work together and is a cause that appears to have drawn them closer than ever.

According to Nola, Somerhalder and Reed are currently preparing to lead the upcoming Mardi Paws parade. The parade is an annual event that donates its proceedings to a variety of different charitable organizations, including Scott’s Wish, which helps those that suffer from leukemia, The St. Tammany Spay and Neuter Group, which helps lower pet costs for low-income families, and the Miracle League Northshore, a group involved in helping children with disabilities play sports.

“Ian and I are excited to participate in this year’s Mardi Paws, and thankful for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation being a beneficiary of the parade,” Reed told the outlet.

The parade is scheduled to take place on February 14 at Mandeville Harbor, which means Somerhalder and Reed will definitely have a busy Valentine’s Day ahead of them. Additional information about the event can be found at Mardi Paws.
