Kate Upton Back For GQ’s August Issue

Kate Upton is set to make a rapid return to GQ magazine, even though the 20-year-old was the magazine’s cover star … oh, last month.

I can only guess July’s GQ produced roof-smashing sales, because pictures left over from the July shoot are to be used in the August edition. Such a practice is not totally unheard of in the men’s mag market, but it isn’t that usual either.

And so the outtake shots of Upton frolicking at the beach with innocently positioned popsicles will be revealed to the world. All of the pictures were snapped by Terry Richardson, who conducted the shoot at the Santa Monica Pier.

You may recall how Upton told a titillating tale of a swimsuit malfunction in July’s GQ:

“For the GQ photo shoot, we were on that ride where the seat spins while the actual ride is spinning, and I’m wearing a one-piece. And all of a sudden the whole entire top falls off!”

Still, you don’t buy that magazine for the gripping anecdotes, right? As it happens, the Sports Illustrated model also did some voluntary topless posing, which will no doubt make another appearance in the August issue.

Upton has recently been rumored to have bagged herself a tiger – that is, a Detroit Tiger: Justin Verlander. The pair were spied together recently at an Aerosmith concert, along with Kate’s pal, model Lizzy Glynn, and Justin’s buddy Frank Viola, Jr., son of Minnesota Twins pitcher Frank Viola.
