Melania Trump Discusses Donald’s Presidency Run, Doesn’t Fall For Bait To Bash Michelle Obama
Melania Trump gave a rare interview in which she discussed husband Donald Trump’s run for the presidency as well as their relationship. However, Melania didn’t fall for the bait in which the interviewer attempted to get her to give an opinion of First Lady Michelle Obama. Melania declined to comment on Obama and instead focused on discussing how she would operate in the White House if she were to become the first lady, noting that she is “very political” but keeps it private.
The Daily Mail reports that Melania Trump spoke out in a rare interview about her husband, Donald Trump. The pair have been married for 11 years and have a 9-year-old son, Barron, together. Melania says that she has not been on the campaign trail with Donald simply because her first priority is her son. Although she is not on the campaign trail, she says that she is “very political.” The potential future first lady says that while she has strong political thoughts, they are mostly left private and to conversations at home.
“I’m very political. I’m not political in public, I’m political at home.”
It seems that Melania is determined to keep those political views private as she refused to answer questions about First Lady Michelle Obama.
When the interviewer asked her opinion on Michelle Obama, Melania replied, “I don’t want to talk about that.”
However, she was keen to talk about her husband’s presidential run.
Melania noted in her Us Weekly interview that the presidential campaign and politics are her husband’s job, and she “leaves that to him.” However, she did note that she doesn’t always agree with her husband’s stance on the issues. Melania says that when she disagrees with her husband on an issue, she discusses it with him but doesn’t expect him to just change his opinion simply because she disagrees. In fact, she notes that sometimes he listens and “sometimes he doesn’t.” Despite sometimes disagreeing on political issues, Melania says Donald Trump is an adult and “knows what the consequences could be.”
“Do I agree with everything he says? No. I have my own opinions too, and I tell him that. Sometimes he takes it in and listens and sometimes he doesn’t. But it is who he is, I don’t want to change him. He’s an adult, he knows what the consequences could be.”
Although she says she doesn’t always agree with her husband Donald Trump on all the issues, she did not specify which issues they disagree on. Instead, she focused on the fact that the two are happily married and that Donald is a great husband.
“My favorite part about him are his brains, his looks – it’s everything together. Donald is romantic in special ways when we spent time together. He’s a great husband and we have a great relationship.”
She says that although he missed their 11-year anniversary due to getting snowed in during Iowa campaign speech, she says that Trump makes their family a priority and is sure to spend time with his son Barron. In fact, Melania says that her young son Barron takes after his father, as he is interested in business and is constantly coming up with interesting ideas. However, Melania, who came from more humble roots, says she tells her son constantly to have dreams and make them come true.
“He’s interested. He has many ideas. He loves Golf. He loves business. I tell him have dreams and make them come true.”
Melania also touched on an issue that has been in the media spotlight lately after Donald Trump admitted that he has never asked God to forgive him for anything. According to Mrs. Trump, the family has a “strong faith” and identifies as Christian.
“We have a strong faith in the family. We are Christian. I was baptized in Slovenia. Barron was baptized in the church where we got married.”
This isn’t the first time that Melania has taken up for her husband and claimed he would make a great president. Prior to the 2012 election, when Trump was considering running for the presidency, Melania took on Joy Behar, noting that her husband is brilliant and that a presidential run would not be a publicity stunt as Trump “doesn’t need the publicity.”
