Tess Holliday: Plus Size Model Pregnant With Second Child

Tess Holliday, the 30-year-old plus-size model who rose to fame through social media, is pregnant with her second child.

According to E! News, Holliday’s rep confirmed on Wednesday, January 27 that she will be welcoming her second child with her fiancé, Nick Holliday, sometime in June. Although it’s been over a decade since Holliday sported a baby bump (she has a 10-year-old son, Rylee, from her previous marriage), Tess said she is excited and ready for this new adventure.

“When I had my son, I was 20 and I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t have help,” Tess Holliday told People Magazine. “I’m really excited to be doing it again and have support, and be able to enjoy having a baby, because I couldn’t last time.”

Tess admitted that her pregnancy wasn’t planned, and she was a bit nervous when she first found out that she would be having another child. Although she has already gone through a pregnancy and raising a child before, there is a lot for her to learn about caring for a baby now rather than 10 years ago.

“Anyone who is having another child, or even their first child, is lying if they’re saying they’re not nervous,” she said. “I am worried about my ability to detach from work, and being able to focus on my family.”

“It’s [also] been 10 years since I had a kid, so there are so many things that are new,” Tess continued. “My friends that have babies are posting all of these new swings and breastfeeding techniques and new bottles, and it’s really overwhelming because I thought, ‘I’ve already done all this,’ but it feels like I haven’t. I’m having to relearn a lot!”

While Tess hasn’t found out the gender of her new baby, she said Rylee is hoping to have a little brother.

“He was apprehensive at first, but he really wants a little brother,” she said. “We told him on Christmas. We got him a little present and we put the ultrasound in it. He’s excited!”

“I think it really solidifies the two halves of our family coming together,” Nick added. “It will be nice to have the family more blended.”

While People Magazine was the first to report the baby news, Tess also took to Twitter to share her exciting announcement with her followers.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Tess is a size 22 model who focuses on making women see their true beauty, rather than conforming to societies’ “norms.” Earlier this year, Holiday, who has exceeded one million followers on Instagram, started a social media movement using the hashtag #EffYourBeautyStandards in an effort to have women realize that they can be beautiful at any size.

When she started the social media movement, which mainly targets Instagram users, Holliday wrote, “I’m no longer going to feel ashamed of my body and hide it, it’s time [sic] flaunt my curves! #effyourbeautystandards.”

The EffYourBeautyStandards Instagram page now has nearly 250,000 followers, and the hashtag has been used more than one million times.

“I’m thrilled—it’s really humbling to see so many women support me and what I’m doing,” Holliday said at the time. “I know other women relate to where I’ve been and the feelings of not quite being good enough. I hope through all of this that they realize they are good enough and beautiful no matter what size color or shape they are.”
