Emily Blunt Seen With Justin Theroux On Set Of ‘The Girl On The Train’ In New York [Video]

Actress Emily Blunt was seen with The Leftovers star Justin Theroux on the set of The Girl on the Train in New York recently.

The Daily Mail has photos taken of the two actors on the set of The Girl on the Train in Irvington, New York, approximately one hour outside New York City.

Justin Theroux was seen bundled up nice and warm in a black parka and underneath was reportedly wearing a crisp blue shirt and black tie and was seen to be enjoying a quick shave on the set.

Justin Theroux, 44, was also seen to be wearing a silver wristwatch and clearly showed off his wedding ring, which might be a prop for the film, or it could be from his real-life marriage to Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston.

For her part, Emily Blunt was looking a little more casual in a gray pea coat with finger-less gloves.

The film The Girl on the Train is adapted from the 2013 novel by Paula Hawkins of the same name and features a character called Rachel Watson (played by Blunt). Blunt’s character is an alcoholic, suffering after a divorce from her husband Tom (played by Theroux). In the story, Tom has left Rachel for another woman, Anna (played by Rebecca Ferguson), with whom he had a child. Once Rachel discovered she was infertile, her descent into alcoholism began.

While Rachel has lost her job through her alcoholism, she continues to commute into New York City every day to keep up appearances. She has also become somewhat of a voyeur and becomes obsessed with a couple she sees on the train. Emily Blunt’s character names the couple Jason and Jess (the couple is played by Luke Evans and Hayley Bennett).

Throughout the story, she frequently has blackouts and doesn’t remember big chunks of what happened when she was drunk. When the girl of the couple she is watching goes missing, Rachel believes she knows what happened to her, but isn’t fully convinced, as she was drunk when she witnessed it.

In an interview with Deadline, Blunt said she loved the fact that the heroine, the lead character in the film and book, is the most unreliable witness in the world, “because she’s a drunk, yet she’s right, and nobody believes her. The idea of playing a part like that where you just feel like you’re drowning is exciting. I’ve ever played a blackout drunk before.”

Besides Emily Blunt and Justin Theroux, Laura Prepon (of Orange is the New Black) is the latest addition to the cast. Prepon will play Cathy, Rachel’s roommate, who becomes increasingly upset with Rachel and threatens her with eviction.

Jared Leto and Lisa Kudrow of Friends fame are also set to star in The Girl on the Train, which is set to premiere on October 7, 2016.

As to the novel, The Girl on the Train is reportedly the fastest-selling adult novel in history. According to Variety, in June last year over two million copies of the book had sold in the U.S. alone since it was published by Riverhead Books in January 2015. The novel hit the top spot on the New York Times bestseller list and remained there for 18 weeks.
