Hillary Clinton Indicted? FBI Reportedly Planning Action Against Democratic Candidate

Hillary Clinton will be charged soon with mishandling classified information, according to reports from the Washington Examiner. During an appearance on Steve Malzberg’s Newsmax show, former House Majority Leader Tom Delay stated that his FBI sources have informed him that they are ready to indict. He followed up by saying that if the Attorney General doesn’t indict, they will go public.

Clinton has maintained throughout the investigation that she never received or sent through her private server any emails that were marked classified while serving as secretary of state. The discovery of emails sent through her private server during her time in that position that are classified above “top secret” have resulted in her current legal situation.

Regarding the charges against Hillary Clinton, Tom Delay said, “One way or another, either she’s going to be indicted and that process begins, or we try her in the public eye with her campaign. One way or another, she’s going to have to face these charges.”

Last week, there were reports that Inspector General Charles McCullough had sent a letter to two Republican lawmakers. In the letters, he advised them that Clinton sent emails that should have been classified above “top secret” through her private server. As a result of these letters, Brian Fallon, Clinton’s press secretary, charged last week that the inspector was in collusion with Republicans in an effort to hurt her campaign for president.

The Washington Times also reports that the reporter who forced the release of Clinton’s emails is accusing the Obama administration of tampering by asking that the remaining emails not be released until after the first four states have cast their votes in the Democratic presidential primary. It’s believed that there are about 4,000 Clinton emails that have not yet been released. It is also believed that the final emails will prove to be some of the most damaging to Clinton. The reporter, Jason Leopold, states that voters should have time to learn about all the emails before casting their votes.

In his court filing, in which he objects to the State Department’s new schedule, Mr. Leopold states, “If the court allows State to delay release of thousands of pages of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s official work emails, a substantial portion of the electorate will be forced to vote without the benefit of important information to which it is entitled about the performance of one of the candidates for U.S. president while serving as secretary of State.”

Hillary Clinton currently has until a State Department deadline of February 29 to produce the remaining emails. This would follow primary elections in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina. Eleven other states will vote on Super Tuesday, which falls on the day after the current deadline of February 29.

Clinton’s emails were originally supposed to be released by January 29, but on Friday, the State Department submitted a request to extend that deadline to February 29. The basis for the extension was that they had discovered that 7,254 pages of emails had not been sent to other government agencies for review as planned. They add that the recent snowstorm also delayed activity related to the emails.

The FBI will not comment on the investigation.

This is Hillary Clinton’s second presidential race. She previously ran against Barack Obama in the race he won for his first term as President of the United States. She also served as First Lady to husband and President Bill Clinton. From 2001 to 2009, Hillary Clinton served as U.S. senator for the state of New York. She served as Secretary of State under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013.
