Porn Star Ron Jeremy Recruited To Snare Accused Canadian Cannibal

Ron Jeremy, twin Playboy bunnies, and the animal-rights group Rescue Ink…I’m guessing the last thing that comes to mind is a sting to capture Luka Rocco Magnotta.

At the time, animal-rights advocates had alleged that Magnotta killed kittens and posted videos of the deeds on the Internet — accusations he has publicly denied. This would have been a year before being charged with first-degree murder in the ghastly May slaying and dismemberment of the 33-year-old Montreal student Jun Lin.

As Huffington Post reports, the porn legend Jeremy, aka the Hedgehog, was approached last year by former Playboy playmates Sia and Shane Barbi, also known as the Barbi Twins, on behalf of Rescue Ink to participate in a ploy to lure Magnotta (a small time Canadian porn actor at the time) to Los Angeles with the offer to star in an x-rated film.

Once in Los Angeles, Magnotta would have been apprehended by the animal rights group, consisting of police officers, military personnel and tattooed “street guys” to be handed over to authorities.

The ploy never went off. Ron, a strong proponent of animal rights, wanted to help but felt uncomfortable about being bait. As Jeremy tells the National Post:

“That’s a little bit out of my league, don’t you think? It’s like an episode from some TV show. The [guy] comes to the set with lube in one hand and his schmeckle in the other thinking he has a job, and the cops tackle him to the ground. That’s good for the movies. That doesn’t work in real life. If he comes to an empty house, he’ll be suspicious. If this guy’s got friends in L.A., who want to search me out first or check me out first, why would I want to put myself in the line of fire like that?”
