WWE News: Nikki Bella Receiving Neck Surgery And May Not Wrestle Again
The WWE Universe is extremely unique. When things don’t go their way, they complain. If WWE officials make the “right” decision, they bring an ultimate group of praise to the table and cheer with jubilation. Even in instances of WWE wrestlers that were hated their entire career, as soon as they retire, it’s an endless amount of love from the fans. Edge is the perfect example for this.
He’s considered one of the greatest WWE superstars in history. The amount of championships accrued throughout his career are nearly unmatched. Edge was forced to retire in 2012 due to a neck complication that could’ve left him paralyzed. One more spear and Adam Copeland’s life post-WWE may have included a wheelchair.
Luckily, the doctor found out his situation and informed him that wrestling just wasn’t an option anymore. Edge obliged and is now a WWE Hall of Famer. Tyson Kidd also experienced severe injury. He and Samoa Joe were in a dark match, and Joe’s finishing move nearly killed Kidd. His doctor notified him that he’s truly a miracle. Now, his wrestling career is all but over. Lastly, Nikki Bella is the latest one to suffer such bad news.Months ago, she hurt her neck, which stemmed from her finishing move, the “Rack Attack.” It took a toll on her neck and was hit with devastating news about her WWE career. Nikki Bella is scheduled for neck surgery and may never wrestle again.
“I have basically a broken neck, a pretty bad herniated disk. What makes mine a little bit difficult than most people is that I have some disk behind my vertebrae so with a lot of prayers we’re gonna pray that the doctors can get the piece behind my vertebrae with just a bone fusion. I have honestly one of the most amazing doctors. And I know that he’s gonna do so amazing and I’m going to have the best comeback story that anyone has ever heard of… In six months time is when I will get that final X-ray to be like, ‘Hey look you can get back in that ring and kick some a**.’ There is a potential that this is career-ending. We will only know that when I get out of surgery on Wednesday and then basically how the bone heals Wednesday. So that’s been tough but I truly have such hope that I will get to compete in that ring another day, I really do.”
That interview was with E! News earlier today, but Nikki Bella is doing the best she can to cope with the news. Here’s a set of tweets by the former-WWE Divas champion minutes ago on Twitter.
In life we hit bumps in the road, what we do with those bumps is what makes us. I have hit mine, and I will overcome it and become stronger.

This isn’t the end for me. This is the beginning of a new chapter, of a test of will and strength. This is my comeback.

Nikki Bella got hurt at the wrong time, unfortunately. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch are about to tear the house down for the next few months, and even into the better part of this year. They are getting a chance, and even if some WWE fans think Bella only ruined it, she did help put Nikki over as a big babyface. If it weren’t for Bella’s heat with the true fans, Charlotte may not have succeeded so easily.
Nobody wants a WWE superstar or woman to get hurt. If they do, then they really aren’t fans at all. Hopefully, Bella comes back from this swiftly and can return for the Road to WrestleMania next year. By that time, Bayley and even more NXT women will get called up. As Bella moves into the latter-stages of her career, she could have one or two more good feuds left.
