Kim Richards’ Ex-Husband Monty Brinson Has Lost His Battle With Cancer
Kim Richards’ ex-husband Monty Brinson has now lost his battle with cancer. Monty put up a good fight for quite some time, but tonight TMZ shared the news that at the age of 58 Monty has passed away. Kim Richards’ ex-husband has been fighting lung cancer, but he has been doing it with Kim by his side and supporting him the entire way.
Kim and Monty were only married for three years and it was a long time ago. Kim got married to Monty Brinson in 1985 and they divorced in 1988. That didn’t keep them from being close, though. These past few years while Monty was battling cancer, Kim Richards actually lived with him and was there to help him out with his treatments and when he wasn’t feeling well. The two were constantly posting pictures with each other on social networks and their relationship seemed really great.

Over the years, Kim Richards has been battling with substance abuse. She has shared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that Monty’s battle did not make this easier on her. The two were very close and Kim loved Monty even though they were not married anymore. Her brother-in-law Rick Hilton was actually the one to break the news about Monty’s death. Here is what he had to say today.
“We have lost Monty Brinson after a brave battle of cancer. His heart was as big as the moon and he was loved by all he met. He will be sorely missed. I love YOU always.”
It is very obvious that even though Kim Richards and Monty Brinson divorced her family still cared about him a lot. Radar Online shared earlier this month that Monty’s battle with cancer might be coming to an end. Monty was actually suffering from Stage-4 lung cancer and had brain tumor diagnoses. Kim was by his side during the entire time. This has been very hard on Kim Richards.
Someone close to Kim Richards spoke out revealing that they were worried about Kim and her sobriety when something happened to Monty. Here is what they had to say about it.
“Kim has been by Monty’s side since he was diagnosed and when he passes she is going to be devastated. Everyone is worried that his death will compromise her sobriety, since she is just so newly sober.”
Kim Richards actually just celebrated 60 days of being sober. Monty Brinson actually lived with Rick and Kathy Hilton for a while before he went to the hospital last time. This is Kim Richards’ sister and brother-in-law and they have been nothing but supportive of him. Brinson was put in the hospital recently and they assumed he wouldn’t make it home, which turned out to be the case.
Up until his last day on this earth Kim Richards’ ex-husband Monty Brinson was able to stay positive. Just three days before his death, he posted on his Instagram and it was a great post showing that he was staying as positive as he could in this situation.
Monty Brinson will be missed by many. Hopefully Kim Richards will be able to handle his death and continue to stay sober.
