WWE Rumors, Spoilers: Top Rumors Going Into ‘Royal Rumble’ — Possible Winner, Surprise Entrants, Title Changes
Wrestling fans are anxiously awaiting the 2016 Royal Rumble on Sunday evening, and more so for what surprises it may bring. A lot of rumors are floating around right now, and it’s really hard to tell what may end up being true or what is totally absurd. It’s time to take a look at the top rumors for possible winners, surprise entrants, title changes and those that may have the best chance of actually happening at WWE’s big event.
Pleased remember that these are simply rumors. Even if some sites say they are substantiated, anything is possible to change in WWE and can even do so at the last minute.
AJ Styles will make his debut in the rumble match
This is going to happen one way or another this week, according to PW Insider. The only thing is that WWE needs to decide when would be the beast way for AJ Styles to make his long-awaited debut with the company.
SmackDown makes no sense since it is taped, but it will either be in the rumble match or on Monday Night Raw. Fans are going to sit throughout the entire rumble match and hope to hear music they aren’t overly familiar with and see if he heads out from backstage.
Roman Reigns will enter number one and win the whole thing
There are four main names that could realistically finish off Sunday night as the winner of the rumble match and with the WWE Title in hand, according to PW Mania. Those four superstars are:
- Roman Reigns
- Bray Wyatt
- Brock Lesnar
- Triple H
As time draws closer, it’s seeming more and more that Reigns is not only going to enter the event as WWE Champion, enter the match number one overall, and have to fight for his life — but that he’s going to win it all. WWE may really want to continue this “push Reigns to the sky” campaign.
If they do though, they are going to get backlash like you’d never believe. This is going to be on the “If Cena Wins, We Riot” and Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania XX proportions.
The 30-superstar match will see the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan
There have been so many false rumors about Bryan in just the last three weeks alone, but one thing is certain that his return may be closer than we think. Lords of Pain reported that Bryan has now been cleared by concussion specialists at UCLA and was “deemed OK” after several tests.
Bryan can be cleared by two, five, or even 10 outside doctors. Until he is cleared by WWE doctors, he’s not getting back in the ring for them. Then again, maybe he has been by now and WWE is doing everything imaginable to keep it a secret.
Stardust vs. Goldust
Could we please finally get this match at WrestleMania? Half of the main event talent will miss the event due to injury and they’re going to have five hours to fill. Give them the match and let it begin in the Royal Rumble.
Brock Lesnar will destroy the record for most eliminations in a Royal Rumble match
After Lesnar was officially entered in the Royal Rumble, it was obvious that he was going to have a big showing in it. The record belongs to Roman Reigns from 2014 when he eliminated 12 superstars during that one match. He broke Kane’s previous record of 11 set in 2001.
Not only could Lesnar break the record, but he may suplex up over the top rope and halfway down the aisle.
There are a lot of other things that many fans are wondering about and here is a collection of quick rumors that have swirled this week:
- Becky Lynch will defeat Charlotte for the Divas Championship
- The New Day will retain their titles
- The Wyatt Family will have a very impressive rumble match showing
- Dean Ambrose will retain his Intercontinental Title
The 2016 Royal Rumble has a lot of wrestling fans a bit confused and totally guessing as to what may happen. That honestly is exactly what WWE wants as they don’t want anyone knowing the surprise entrants, title winners, or overall winner before they happen. Anything can happen, and Orlando needs to be ready for what may come.
