Brock Lesnar can’t face off with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 as was originally planned last year because that’s been done. Some thought he may end up facing off with John Cena, but that was never confirmed and an injury to Cena has him missing the big event in April. Now, it looks like WWE is starting a feud between The Wyatt Family and Lesnar, and rumor has it that his Mania opponent is now known.
No, it’s not Bray Wyatt. It’s Braun Strowman .
On Monday Night Raw , the main event segment saw Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns as guests on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel as recapped by WWE . Everything got out of hand with numerous wrestlers coming out in the pre- Royal Rumble melee and things ended in an ugly manner.
The Wyatt Family appeared around the ring and took out Reigns first. After that, they each took turns destroying Brock Lesnar. To end the brawl, Bray Wyatt delivered a Sister Abigail to Lesnar and the whole Wyatt Family posed over the fallen beast.
After this happened, it was believed that WWE was leading toward one of two possible feuds:
- Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt
- Brock Lesnar vs. The Wyatt Family
Well, new reports have those possibilities as being almost accurate, but there is a slight twist to it. Wrestling Inc. is reporting that there has been a big backstage push recently for Brock Lesnar to go one-on-one with Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 32 .
It seems as if the feud that saw The Wyatt Family repeatedly get the upper-hand and best of Team ECW (Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer) was all in the plan. The multiple wins by the Wyatts was used to build-up momentum for the strong stable and have them seen as a huge threat.
WrestleZone is reporting that Triple H is very high on Braun Strowman, mostly due to his immense size and strength. There is a bit of a problem though as some other high ranking officials in WWE don’t feel the same way he does.
Some officials are not entirely sure that Strowman is fully ready for such a high-profile singles match and for Brock Lesnar to be his first big singles feud. Not only has he been seen as a tad green in the ring still, but having him taking on such a popular star like Lesnar on a stage like WrestleMania 32 may be too much for him.
It is known that Brock Lesnar is going to be on WWE television through WrestleMania 32 at the very least. He’s going to be in the Royal Rumble on Sunday, will be appearing at Fastlane in February, and then make random appearances on Monday Night Raw before likely finishing up his current run in early April.
The way the feud could go is that the Wyatts could further it on Sunday by eliminating Lesnar from the rumble match or causing him to get thrown out. Over the course of the next month, he could feud with The Wyatt Family and maybe have a singles match with Bray Wyatt at Fastlane .
That singles match could also turn into a handicap match of some sort.
Some may not think that Braun Strowman is at the same level as Brock Lesnar, but that may be able to be taken care of along the line. Strowman’s size and strength can maybe make up for his lack of experience in the ring, and Lesnar can carry the match for them.
Along the way, Paul Heyman’s promos for Lesnar can be matched with Bray Wyatt being the mouthpiece for Strowman.
WrestleMania 32 is starting to take shape, but a lot could change before the beginning of April actually rolls around. The way things are going though, it looks as if Braun Strowman may have the unenviable task of taking on Brock Lesnar on one of WWE’s biggest stages.
