Patrick Kielty And Wife Are Proud Parents To Baby Boy

Comedian Patrick Kielty, 44, and his wife Cat Deeley, 38, are proud parents to a baby boy who was born last week. Deeley shared the wonderful news via Twitter.

“Beyond delighted to announce the birth of our baby boy last week. All doing well & we couldn’t be happier… 3 really is the magic number,” she wrote on her Twitter account. The happy couple, who have been married since September 2012, shared the pregnancy news back in September.

Deeley said that if she wasn’t a host for a TV show, she would have kept the pregnancy news a secret. “To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t have even announced it to anybody if I hadn’t been doing a live TV show,” she told People magazine.

Nevertheless, it’s totally impossible to hide a growing baby bump, especially from television viewers. “There is only so much microphone and card work you can do in the middle [to conceal it],” she added.

After announcing the pregnancy on social media, Deeley attended the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards in L.A where she revealed her growing baby bump.

“I managed to squeeze myself in this Monique Lhuillier gown, and we had to let the back out a little bit, but the rest is OK!” Deeley told Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet. “I’m hanging in there.”

Kielty at one point, joked about having children with his wife by saying, “I hope any child we might have has Cat’s looks and my accent. With our two strong accents, we basically needed subtitles or a UN translator.”

In a past interview, Cat said that she and her husband are looking forward to giving their unborn child an experience that would be totally different from their own childhoods. In fact, she told Closer magazine, “We’re going to ensure we take the baby back home to visit our families as much as possible but, for now, we’re happy here in LA and are excited to bring up our child with an outdoors lifestyle.”

“They’re going to experience the LA sunshine Patrick and I never got to experience,” the proud mother added.

Last year, Kielty said that as soon as the baby will be born, he and his wife would have to move to another residence. At the present time, he is in California where Cat is currently presenter of a popular reality show called So You Think You Can Dance.

Kielty also mentioned that he wasn’t sure that he would want his first-born child to grow up among the “hippy-dippy” folks in California and states that life might become “rubbish” once the baby is born.

“You have a lot of hippy-dippy people out there. Quite a lot of Americans who don’t have any answers and don’t know what they’re doing head west, and then they get to the point where they reach the (Californian) beach and can’t really run any further,” he said on talkSPORT in September.

Kielty added:,”I thought to myself: ‘I’ve got myself out of a small village in Northern Ireland and spent a bit of time on the beach in California.”

“My life was happy, and you’re going to have a kid there and your life is going to be rubbish.”

According to Digital Spy, Kielty described how he and Cat met for the first time and that their encounter involved a last-minute flight. He added that there has always been a romantic spark between them, saying, “Unless someone was stupid enough to get on a plane, nothing would have happened.”

No other details were mentioned, including the name of the precious baby boy.
