Amy Schumer Slams Kid At Critics’ Choice Awards Who Made ‘Whore’ Joke About Her On Twitter, But Did He Deserve It?
Amy Schumer went off on a fan who posted a photo on Twitter of the pair of them together at the Critics’ Choice Awards with a questionable caption beneath, one that the comedian interpreted as calling her a whore.
The original tweet, from junior film critic Lights Camera Jackson, was posted after the young man attended the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday evening. After scoring a picture with Amy on the red carpet, he uploaded it to his Twitter account with a caption that some, including Schumer, are calling vile.
Amy, not one known to hold her tongue, quickly responded to him within half an hour. Apparently, Schumer wasn’t too pleased with the way that the young man decided to take a stab at a promiscuity joke.@LCJReviews @jondaly I get it. Cause I’m a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad.

That sharp response from the actress at his side in the photo was enough the Jackson to quickly take it down. After all, he doesn’t want to be upsetting Amy if he’s planning on getting in on the entertainment world after her Critics’ Choice win. He promptly tweeted an apology to Schumer and conceded that his joke wasn’t funny, and just to be sure, he also directly replied back to Amy’s response.
I truly apologize for the tweet I posted earlier. I’m not a comedian and it wasn’t funny. @amyschumer

@amyschumer I truly apologize. Thought you’d like the joke. I should leave the comedy to you! Thanks for the photo. Glad you won last night!

While Jackson is no doubt sweating about the exchange, which is being picked up by various media outlets, he can at least rest in easy in knowing that Amy doesn’t hold a grudge. Perhaps due to lingering joy from her Critics’ Choice win, Schumer decided to show mercy on the young man and granted him Twitter-giveness.
@LCJReviews that’s really okay honey. I just remember thinking you and your dad were sweet and it was a bummer to read that

Amy received cheers for her reaction from a host of fans. While some of them were also forgiving of Jackson’s tweet, many of them were quick to pulverize him, with one tweet saying that his parents “raised a s**t.” Others were kinder in their rapprochement, telling him that they hoped the embarrassing response from Schumer had taught him to avoid such humor.
.@LCJReviews Hopefully when you grow up a little you’ll realize how debasing, gross and sexist your original tweet to @amyschumer was.

@onemoore @NickNordstrom tweet me when it isn’t the norm for women to be shamed for their sexuality and men are regularly praised. Bye.

Not everyone was quick to jump on board with how the official exchange went down between Amy and Jackson. Some called out a perceived hypocrisy in Schumer’s reaction, saying that it was unfair of her to get angry at someone for using the same jokes about promiscuity that she herself uses in her routine.
@DPPJ @LCJReviews @amyschumer funny how her show is called “inside any schumer” and “back door tour” And she can’t take a joke?

@LCJReviews @amyschumer The PC police ignore INTENT just to encourage hatred of words & symbols. You’re a good guy, don’t sweat over it.

Do you think the Twitter joke ruined Amy Schumer’s Critics’ Choice win afterglow?
