‘Teen Mom OG’ Under Fire After Taylor McKinney And Tyler Baltierra Call Out MTV For Bad Editing
Teen Mom OG just began airing a new season earlier this month, and there is already drama surrounding the show. As with any show that is filmed in advance, editing takes place. Teen Mom OG likely has several hundred hours of footage from each of the four women. Before the episodes were compiled together, there was plenty of editing. Many fans know this, and expect things to be misconstrued from time to time, especially when the network is looking to get a rise out of them. Two of the Teen Mom OG stars are not happy with the way MTV has been editing their situations, and both have decided to speak out.
Tyler Baltierra has been with the Teen Mom franchise since the very beginning. Rarely does he have anything to say about what is happening with filming or any of the drama from the show spilling over onto social media. This season on Teen Mom OG, Baltierra marries Catelynn Lowell. The two have been together for years, and placed their first daughter up for adoption. They since have had another child and walked down the aisle late last summer. According to the Hollywood Gossip, Teen Mom OG edited the bachelor party situation to look like Catelynn was not okay with it. Baltierra insists she was fine with how things worked out. He went on to say that the producer was constantly bringing up the stripper to Catelynn, and that made her uncomfortable.
There has been some seriously controversial stuff on Teen Mom OG this season. While the fact that Farrah Abraham got physical with a producer and was incredibly verbally abusive to her mother has been talked about, it hasn’t gotten the same reaction Tyler Baltierra got from the stripper moments. Some are just accustomed to Abraham’s behavior, and the others just felt like Baltierra disrespected his soon-to-be wife with the stripper situation. Either way, much of the editing done on Teen Mom OG is to get a reaction from viewers.
It seems that Teen Mom OG production is really focused on the situation between Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney. Since last season, Bookout has been pushing a proposal from McKinney. The two have lived together for quite some time and welcomed a daughter last spring. Teen Mom OG has focused on the wants from Bookout, including editing her to look like she is putting immense pressure on McKinney. As of now, there is no engagement, and filming wrapped quite some time ago.
While Teen Mom OG may be pushing the line a bit with the editing, Taylor McKinney is not happy about it at all. According to OK! Magazine, McKinney called out Teen Mom OG for editing him to make him look like a jerk. He specifically referred to last week’s episode when the couple was in Las Vegas. Viewers got to see an intense conversation between the couple about an engagement, and McKinney insists that is not how it went down. While he may not be happy, Teen Mom OG can edit anything they film. In the world of television, nothing is as it seems.
As the season goes on, Teen Mom OG viewers will get to see more of how the relationship between Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney progresses. Also, Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell’s wedding will be aired. Teen Mom OG fans are looking forward to the upcoming episodes while also relishing in the drama of the past ones. With any type of “reality” television show, there is going to be editing. These two guys were voicing their concern over the way Teen Mom OG made them look, but most fans expect the perception to be a little skewed anyway.
